"Hey! Let. Me. Go." Davis struggled as an unidentified Digimon, which looked like a goblin, pushed him to a cell. "Keep quiet!" The goblin screamed.

"What's the meaning of this? Where are the others?" Davis yelled. "Davis?" A soft voice echoed through the dark place. "Kari? Kari! Where are you?" Davis panicked. "Right across your cell!" Kari answered.

"Kari, are you okay?" Davis asked.

"Yeah… I'm fine. But T.K. isn't."

"T.K.? Where is he?"

"Right beside your cell. I can see him clearly from here and he hasn't woken up from conscious yet! He's head is still bleeding!" Kari cried. "Damn! I hate being so helpless! Hey! T.J.! Wake up!" Davis tried a role call but T.K. didn't answer.

"T.J.!"

"Would you keep it down? You are highly disturbing my already-forsaken time!" A new voice joined their conversation as Davis raised his eyebrows. "I know that voice…"

"Indeed you do." The figure a few cells beside Kari emerged from the dark to reveal the Digimon Emperor.

"Ken!"

"Don't call me by that name!" Ken glared as he returned to the darkness inside his cell. "Hn! So, you got caught as well, huh? Figures. I'll call you whatever you want, Genius-boy!" Davis snapped. "Do what you want. Why don't you pretend I don't exist and I'll pretend none of you exists as well?" Ken snapped back.

"Why you!"

"Enough, Davis."

"Tai? You're here too?" Davis asked. "Yes… and so are the rest of us." Tai informed, making Davis gave out an 'oh…' loudly. "Took you a long time to realize that!" Ken muttered. "Shut up!" Davis yelled. "And I thought we all had a deal that our enemies don't exist in our presence." Sora raised her voice.

And for the first time, Ken wasn't able to answer to that.

"I don't understand this! I mean, why are these Digimons doing this? Didn't they know that it was because of us - the Chosen Children – that the Digital World is at peace?" Davis asked out loud for everyone to hear.

"No, Davis. I don't think they do." Tai said. "They must've hated humans with all of their hearts. Ever since he…" Tai looked at Ken, "…came along, they think all humans are the same – pure evil."

"Hn!" Tai heard Ken mutter.

"K- Kari?" T.K. mumbled. Kari instantly stood up in her position as she looked at T.K.'s cell. "T.K.! Are you alright?" Kari asked worriedly.

"Ugh. Feels like an anvil was dropped on my head or something." T.K. tried his best to stand up but fell on his knees. "Then don't stand, fool!" Ken snapped at the Child of Hope. "What's he doing here?" T.K. glared. "T.K. don't start!" Kari warned.

"You better lie down… you'll need it." Ken's usual cold voice dropped into his soft and calm voice. T.K. continued glaring, but decided to put up his friendly side. "Thanks, Ken…"

"Don't call me that."

"Then… what am I going to call you then?" T.K. raised an eyebrow. "Master." Ken smirked. "I'll pass." T.K. chuckled as he lied down on the ground. For the first time, Ken had actually smirked the smile he had never thought he could do. But decided to brush it all off, looking at his injured Digimon beside him, who was waking up as well.

"M- Master?" Wormmon muttered. "Sleep, Wormmon. I don't give you permission to move as of yet!" Ken ordered. "Y- yes, Master." Wormmon nodded softly. "Wormmon is here?" Davis raised his head as he heard the worm's voice. "M- master! Th- they've been captured too?" Wormmon stuttered. "Obviously." Ken answered.

"What was that supposed to mean, Ken?" Davis emphasized on Ken's name. "How can Wormmon stay with you and our Digimon can't?"

"Because I am weak-" Wormmon answered sadly. "Silence! I won't allow them to pick on my slave! Wormmon is mine to pick on and only mine." Ken retorted, making Wormmon smile at Ken's sudden concern.

"Hn. How sweet of you, Ken." Davis smiled, "Sweet… yet selfish!"

"Whatever." Ken muttered. "Can you both please keep quiet? I'm trying to sleep here!" T.K. snapped as both DDs silenced, leaving the dungeons as quiet as ever.

//"Okay… so what are you guys planning on doing in the Digital World?" Tai raised an eyebrow. "Umm… picnic?" Yolei brought up the basket of food she brought.

"Have you ever thought about the consequences that the Digimon Emperor would come and attack you at anytime?" Tai crossed his arms. "Yeah… but, we brought Veemon and the others with us! We could handle it, Tai!" Davis winked. Tai gave out a loud sigh, "It's not that easy, you know…"

"Come on, please?" Davis pleaded. "Nah! We can do it some other time, Davis. Why don't we just go to the park?" Cody suggested. "No! I want to play with Veemon too!" Davis pouted like a little kid. "Yeah!" Vemmon agreed.

"Well… we might as well come along!" Tai grinned. "Hey! The food is enough for only 5 people!" Davis whined. "Correction, Davis. 6 people. You eat for enough of 2 people, you know!" Yolei smiled. "Hey!!!" Davis pouted.

"Don't worry, Davis. We'll only be guarding you!" Matt joined in. "What? You guys are coming too?" Davis raised his voice. "Yeah! A lot of people should stick out for the 5 of you, ne?" Sora smiled.

"Whaaaaaat??????" Davis yelled.

"Really… you guys shouldn't have." Davis grumbled. "C'mon, Davis! Just have fun!" Tai laughed as he threw the soccer ball on Tai's direction. Tai easily caught it and smirked, "Are you actually asking me to a challenge?"

"Oh, you bet I am!" Tai smirked as well as he placed both of his hands on his waists.

"Well… let's get it on!" Davis smiled.

And there it goes… the white-and-black-colored soccer ball went through the grass as the 2 bearers of Courage dashed through chasing after it. The next thing Davis knew, he flew off the ground as he tripped on something…

"Wh- what was that?" Davis blinked, looking at the humongous red thing sticking out of the ground. The next thing he knew, the red thing jumped at his face and started suffocating him. "Hey! Get. Off."

"Davis! Aaahh!!!"

"Tai!" Kari shrieked as he saw Tai being enveloped by goblins that sprouted out from the ground. "Humans! Humans! Must. Kill!" They chanted, grabbing Kari by the neck and lifting her off the ground. "Kari!" Tailmon called as she saw Yolei caught by the neck as well.

"Let her go!" T.K. glared as he took a huge bark, whacking the goblins with it. As soon as he did, the goblins started hitting T.K. with the clubs they were bringing, leaving the Child of Hope in unconsciousness.//

Davis can't help but think everything was his own fault. He shouldn't have risked that day just to go to a picnic. Maybe they should have went on another day… but then, the goblins would still be there, right? Davis gave out a loud sigh as he felt everyone's snores.

"You're still awake…" It wasn't a question. It was a statement. "Yeah, so what?" Davis snapped, glaring at Ken's cell. "Hn." Ken snapped, ending the conversation. Davis blinked at the sudden attitude-change of the Digimon Emperor and decided to get to know the Genius boy inside of him.

"So, Ken…"

"I thought I told you not to call me that." Ken raised an eyebrow. "Okay. So, Man… why don't you want me to call you by your name?" Davis asked. "Because he no longer exists… he had died 4 years ago." Ken answered with such ease, making Davis realize that the Digimon Emperor was either telling the truth – or was insane.

"Oh yeah? If he really died 4 years ago, who am I talking to right now?" Davis asked, raising an eyebrow. "His ghost." Ken answered accurately. As if he really was telling the truth all the time. "Yeah? And why did he die?" Davis had to ask, teasing Ken. Ken silenced which made Davis smirk. Caught red handed.

"Because he killed his brother at that time…" Ken muttered, but his voice echoed through that dark and cold place. Davis eyes widened as he stood up and held his prison bars tightly, facing Ken's cell in his direction. "Are you actually telling the truth, Ken? Cause if you aren't, I'm really gonna punch you!"

Ken didn't answer. Making Davis feel really uncomfortable. "I was going to ask you why you did all those things to those innocent Digimons. But then, I think I already got my answer." Davis glared. "Because you are the Digimon Emperor. And I know Ken would never do those things to those Digimons! You are the sick, cruel, bastard Digimon Emperor! Ken is the exact opposite."

"Hn." Ken humphed as he walked deeper into his dark cell and decided to go to sleep. "Go to sleep, Motomiya. You'll need your strength in the morning." Ken ordered coldly.

Davis raised his eyebrows in an odd way as he sat back down, looking at the Digimon Emperor with sadness and guilt. "Good night." He greeted, going to his corner of the cell to sleep. Little did he know that the moment he closed his eyes, another pair of eyes closed as well… only, these eyes were soaked in tears.

To be continued…
