Hey! This is just a cute little one shot that popped into my head. It is really really short,

but hopefully funny and sweet. Thanks everyone!

Obnoxious but Charming

James and his friends ducked into the nook of the hallway as two female voices

were heard. He felt his stomach jump into his throat as he recognized one voice as the

girl of his dreams, Lily Evans, and the other as her best friend Cecilia Worthington.

"Oh, let's hear it, Lily. All I want to hear is 'I admit that I like James Potter.'"

Lily shook her head at her best friend, trying to deny what was, (in her mind) 'a stupid,

slight, physical attraction to James Potter, and a much larger attraction when he was

charming rather than annoying Snape.'

"Oh please. Only if he weren't such an obnoxious, arrogant, conniving, corrupt,

horrid, decrepit, disgusting, ostentatious, sordid, pompous, deceitful, tush kissing,

detention enjoying, professor flirting, little jerk!" Lily shook her head again.

"You will never hear that sentence come out of this mouth, Celia. Not in a billion

years."

"Sure, like I would ever believe that. I know you like him and that's that. You

will recognize it one day, even I have to pry open your eyes with a needle."

"You'll use any excuse to harm me with a needle!" Lily squealed as they turned

the corner to keep patrolling the hallways.

Remus sighed. "I'm sorry you had to hear that James," he tried to comfort, but

James wasn't listening for he was in shock.

"Well it's all right, James. She said she'd go out with you if you weren't an

'obnoxious, arrogant, conniving, corrupt, horrid, decrepit, disgusting, ostentatious,

sordid, pompous, deceitful, tush kissing, detention enjoying, professor flirting, little jerk'.

That's got to mean something right?" but Peter couldn't get him to pay attention.

Finally Sirius tried. He smacked James on the shoulder, hard, and it brought him

out of it.

All three boys were surprised when a slow, yet huge smile stretched across his

face. In an awe full and unbelieving voice, he spoke.

"She called me a 'professor flirting jerk'! She's jealous! I knew it! I have to go

win the lovely heart of a Miss Evans! I will see you later!"

And just like that, James ran down the hallway with, "Lily will you marry me!"

echoing through the castle all the way.

This was the younger more boyish James without a care on his shoulders. I would say this was in anywhere from fourth to sixth year. You pick. Was it cute? Go and review ok?!
