Lonely was a word she knew well. She was intimately familiar with the meaning of the word. For even now, she was lonely. Having no one understand you, did that to you. Having walked away from something you use to want did that to you. And knowing that all of your friends are dead would do that to you. Make you so lonely the feeling gnawed at you. Begging for something familiar. Clawing into your conscious state until you were deeply depressed. Despite that she knew she was lonely, she didn't know what to do about it. Leaving the Fuedal Japan had probably been the hardest thing she had to do. Knowing that within a hundred years or so Sango and Miroku would be dead. That maybe Inuyasha died in a fight, or had moved on. Maybe Shippo was dead too or maybe he had found someone to love and went off with them. Kirara maybe... Well she couldn't think of what might have happened to Kirara. Kouga mated with Ayame before she left. They probably had babies and moved on with their lives and forgot all about her. The defeat of Naraku left open many possibilities. She sighed and looked out of the window of the restaurant she was in. Lonely certainly described her.

She smiled to herself recalling someone she had forgotten. Silly her to forget him. For maybe he was the one that mattered most of all. He was half the reason why she couldn't stay with Inuyasha. Especially since he left without a backward glance or a fare well. Maybe that was why she was lonely. She missed seeing him. The ever mysterious Lord of the Western Lands. She sighed once more and looked down at her still full plate. Her appetite was waning. As well as her need for something to drink. Human contact had been long since replaced with books. Truth was she felt like a shell of herself. Her theory was because she left a lot behind. She knew the real reason though. She left her soul behind in the warring states. She left it as a memory for everyone. And her heart had been unknowingly given to Sesshomaru the western lord. He of course had no idea that when he left he had taken her heart with him. She was empty with loneliness. After all lonely was Kagome Higurashi's middle name.

Authoress Corner:

Disclaimer: Do not own Inuyasha they belong rightfully to Rumiko Takahashi.

I told you I might write a one-shot in Kagome's perspective. Poor sad lonely Kagome, well that's it for this. No sequels or other chapters. Sorry but I have so much else to do and at least I put something up for New Years. HAPPY BELATED NEW YEARS! Person Of A Strange Origin or POASO
