I wrote this for my English class and it was so fun to do! My class and teacher loved it and I got a great grade. Please enjoy!

"If you don't hurry up, we won't make it!" My stomach growled as I ran as fast as I could. I tried running faster, but it was a tough feat with my stomach as desperate as it was.

Alois ran next to me and yelled, "We only have a few minutes to make it to breakfast! Faster!"

"That's what I'm trying to do! Lizzy, let's go!" I yelled at the girl behind me. She was falling behind.

"Whose idea was this? We won't make it!" she called to us.

Alois and I turned around, all the while still running, and simultaneously roared, "It was your idea!" We continued to sprint to our destination: McDonalds. I started to gain ground and soon passed Alois. We were only a few streets away now.

I looked at my watch and willed myself to go faster. Exactly two minutes until McDonalds stopped serving breakfast. We can make it.

"Ciel! Slow down! We'll just go tomorrow!" Lizzy called ahead to me. She was slowly drifting farther and farther behind Alois and even farther behind me. I don't think she saw the direness of the situation. If we, heaven forbid, didn't make it to the breakfast time of McDonalds, Alois and I would starve…

Renewed by new motivation, I slowed down only to grab Alois and speed up again, dragging him along with me.

"Hell yeah, Ciel! Let's go! We need them pancakes!" He wrenched his arm from my grasp and sped ahead of me, leaving Lizzy and me in the dust.

I heard a yell behind me. Alois turned and briefly stopped while I just pivoted for a quick second to see Lizzy on the ground about a block behind us. I quickly turned and ran past Alois.

"LEAVE HER!" I screamed and kept sprinting toward my goal. Pancakes were more important right now.

"JERK!" I ignored the yell behind me and looked to my left to see Alois running beside me once again. Without warning, Alois fell to the ground and hit his chin.

"Ow! Oh noes! I fells!" He cried. I stopped and knelt next to him, concerned for my best friend.

"Oh noes!" I repeated.

"I'll be okay. Go on without meh!" He looked up at me with a smile.0

I thought for a second, "…Okay!" I leapt up and continued running. I glanced back and saw a shocked look on Alois' face as he scrambled to run after me.

"Hey! I thought we were in this together Ciel!" Being more athletic than I was, Alois caught up to me in no time.

"I told you earlier. Pancakes are a necessity!" We resumed running like hell.

Finally we saw our destination one block away. We turned the corner, ran up to the fast food restaurant, yanked open the doors, and skidded up to the counter.

"We need two orders of pancakes and two orange juices stat," I panted.

The girl at the counter stared at us like we were deformed aliens and said: "Sorry, but we stopped serving breakfast at 11 o'clock. It's 11:01, now." Alois and I gaped at the girl with our mouths open. We were going to starve…

"Can you please just give us pancakes?" Alois asked desperately.

"I'm sorry." She said in a snobby voice, "We will not being serving you any pancakes today, but if you would like to order something else or come back tomorrow, then you are welcome to."

I slumped my shoulders in defeat. We'll never get pancakes now…

I hope you guys liked it! Please review! Thanks for reading!
