The Egyptian Chronicles book 1: The Rise of Set
Chapter 1
Carla
Dad and I were on our way to visit my younger brother Sam. I'm Carla Kane., a 14 year old girl. My dad Julius Kane was shifting nervously in his seat, so I was nervous because well, he doesn't easily get scared.
"Dad, what's wrong" I asked.
"Nothing Carla" he said distantly. He only was like that when he was thinking of our mother, Ruby Kane. She died when I was eight and my brother was six. That was why we were visiting my brother. After my mom died, my grandparents and my dad had a court battle that included, six lawyers and a spatula (don't ask) Sam ended up in there custody while I traveled the world with my dad.
As soon as we stopped Dad got out of the car. He told the cabbie to stay there while we went to get Sam. When we were halfway up the side walk that led to Sam's house when dad turned around and scowled. I turned to see he was looking at a man with a trench coat who, was standing across the street.
"Go get Sam and get in the car" he said.
"Bu-"
"Go" he commanded and I went to knock on the door. As soon as I did that there was movement in the house and Sam opened the door. My brother had blonde hair, blue eyes, a leather jacket, jeans, and a blue streak in his hair.
"Took you long enough" Sam said in his super cool British accent and strolled by.
Dad was waiting for us by the taxi and said "Hey Sam".
"Hey Dad! Where are we going" Sam asked.
"A museum" he replied as soon as we were in the car.
"A Bloody museum! We always go to museums" Sam cried.
"Sam I-" Dad started patiently.
"Whatever" Sam interrupted.
As we drove passed Cleopatra's Needle dad told the driver "Stop"
"Do we have to stop at every monument" Sam said.
"It's where it happened" dad murmured.
"Where what happed? You mean mum. I pass by this every day" Sam shouted. Suddenly a light flashed and I saw a boy wearing blue robs with brown skin and military cropped top black hair. Another woman stood next to him with black hair and was wearing blue too. The light flashed again AMD they were gone.
"Children get in the car. Now" dad said.
