Say Anything Expect The Tavern

Arthur is dead set against me going into the Tavern. Of course he doesn't mind as long as I'm with him. I normally avoid the Tavern at all costs because of the drunken brawls. Yes, I'm not allowed in the Tavern by myself because of an incident.
I had gone to the Tavern to grieve for the death of my father, had too much alcohol, and ended up with a lot of bruises & cuts in the morning. I did not use magic and I'm very proud of myself for that fact. Yes I was drunk, but not stupid enough to use my magic. Arthur was very upset with me, his face was red like a tomato, he looked livid for some reason, and firmly told me "Merlin, You are not allowed in the Tavern ever again". So from then on if I go into a Tavern then Arthur will make me wish that I had never been born and lecture me.
Gaius decided to tell Arthur that I was in the Tavern, but I really wished that he had said anything expect the Tavern because Arthur get's really pissed if he is told that I'm at the Tavern and for the record I do not ever go into the Tavern. So I was not at the Tavern, but really hiding behind the door and as soon as Gaius had said "Tavern" I silently winced for Arthur will give me a whole lot of work along with a long lecture.
Uther is dead and a week later I'm given a ton of work for obviously Arthur has not forgotten about Gaius claiming that I was at the Tavern last week. I should write Gaius a note to never ever say Merlin and Tavern in the same sentence.
"I didn't see you in the tavern last week, Merlin." Gwaine told me and I looked at him. "Arthur mentioned that you were in the tavern last week, but I didn't see you there. I told Arthur, but he claimed that I'm covering for you."
