Felix awoke Christmas morning overjoyed. It was his and Tamora's first Christmas together, and he couldn't wait to give her the perfect gift he had picked out for her. But it would have to wait.

They were spending Christmas morning with Ralph and Vanellope opening presents around the 8-bit tree decorated with homemade ornaments, mostly candy-themed courtesy of the little Sugar Rush racer.

This was Felix's first Christmas morning spent without the Nicelanders. The blocky citizens of Niceland always did things so proper, sitting around the penthouse sipping apple cider while chatting and unwrapping gifts one tape strip at a time.

Being with his new family was far more exciting. The explosion of happiness on Vanellope's face as wrapping paper flew all around as she tore into presents was priceless. There was nothing like the pure joy on a child's face on Christmas, especially a child who had never experienced it before. Even seeing Ralph's gaped-toothed smile was a delight as the wrecker savored unwrapping his gifts for the first time as well.

Tamora was more reserved with her unwrapping, but the sight of her sitting on his couch wearing a red sweater and small, content smile was a glorious sight. He couldn't take his eyes off her as she showed Vanellope how to use the special helmet she'd had made for the racer.

They'd had a wonderful brunch (courtesy of Felix) and hot cocoa (courtesy of Vanellope) afterwards. Around afternoon, Ralph and Vanellope headed out to pass out gifts to Q-bert and his gang, leaving the couple to themselves for a while.

Felix hopped off the couch, and Tamora's eyebrow arced curiously. "What's up your sleeve, short stack?"

"Just wait, ma'am. I have one more surprise for you." Felix stuck a hand into the tree, pulling out something that his fist fit around. He paused as he turned back to the beauty seated comfy on his couch, legs curled underneath her as she watched him return. He shook himself out of his dream state and returned to Tamora with his hands behind his back.

"Laying it on thick, Fix-it?" Tamora remarked, sitting up straight.

Felix smiled proudly. "Just trying to give my best gal the best Christmas." He stuck out his hand and opened his fist, presenting her with a small black box.

The curious expression on Tamora's face fell as she stared at the velvet box. She hesitated before stretching out a hand and carefully taking the box. She popped open the lid. A blue diamond ring stared back at her. She took a shuttering breath.

"Look at the note," Felix interjected before she could jump to any conclusions. He knew exactly what she was thinking.

Tamora tipped the box upward just a bit to see a small note carefully placed in the lid. "A promise to you," she read.

"It's a promise ring," Felix explained.

After a beat of silence, Tamora lifted just her eyes. "A promise ring? Are we 16, Fix-it?"

Felix gave a nonchalant shrug, though he was shaking like a leaf on the inside from excitement and little bit of nerves. "I know you're not ready to get married just yet, but one day you may be again."

Tamora plucked the ring from it's snug hold and slid it onto her right hand ring finger. Felix waited in anticipation as she pulled her hand back to gaze at it. "It's beautiful, Felix."

A relieved smile broke out on Felix's face as Tamora leaned in for a thank you kiss that she made linger. They broke away, hovering inches from one another as Felix touched his love's cheek with a bared hand.

"I love you, Tamora Jean Calhoun, and I promise to wait as long as it takes until you're ready to be my wife."

He climbed onto the couch next to her, and wrapped themselves around each other, tangled in a wonderful pile of cuddles. Tamora smiled into Felix hair. What Felix didn't know was that she was ready and that one day soon she would promise him that she would be his forever.
