Disclaimer: Well, would you look at that! It seems that my name is NOT Kishimoto-senpai! Silly me. XD
You Have No Idea.
As I sat down on the grass, I leaned back a bit and looked up towards the sky. The Konoha Hokage, Tsunade-sama, didn't need to see me for another hour. I thought back to when I started looking at clouds and stars and everything that I saw in the sky. The sun, the moon, little kids lost balloons. It was probably back when Gaara was a-different. I would worry about him being with Kankuro and often just thought and thought while staring out windows and such.
But lately I had been continuing this habit for a different reason. See, there's this kid. He's from Konoha. He constantly tells me stuff like how "Troublesome" I am, and the best strategies for all of his games. And whenever I come between villages he always asks to meet me on top of a hill, or on the top of the roof or something. And he is always there before me, lying down, just looking at those same gosh darn clouds.
But I have to say, it is pretty relaxing.
And as I'm just sitting here, staring, in my own little world. And then, I suddenly feel this tiny, tad bit annoying tug. It's on the obi that I wear around my waist. And it just keeps a constant, soothing, just tiny bit annoying rhythm to it. And finally, I turn around. And right behind me is the 'Troublesome' boy.
Who happens to look quite nice against the sky, by the way.
And he leans down, very, very close to my lips. And as I blush just a tad, he whispers, "You're in my spot." I roll my eyes and scoot over.
"What time is it?" I ask, closing my eyes, face turned toward the sun.
"You have half an hour before you have to see Tsuande." He says.
"How about a game while we wait?"
"Like what?"
"Let's play chess."
And then he nods. I take the small board that I had just in case and put all the pieces out. We start the game and he instantly starts taking piece after piece of mine. He grins, that bored, troublesome grin. Like always.
"Shikamaru-kun?"
He looks up at me.
"Troublesome." He mumbles.
I grin.
And then he leans over just a bit too much to make his move. And before he even says "Checkmate" I pick up my piece that won't do anything to help me win, and I lean forward and place my face just a bit too close to his.
"Shika," I start. And then I kissed him. And it tasted like sweat and dirt and pain and chess and wind and shadows and ponytails-
"I'll give you that one for free."
And I picked up the board and my bag and walked over to the tower, Shikamaru right next to me, holding my hand.
"Troublesome." He whispered.
"You have no idea."
