After realising their feelings for one another, Liu Kang had decided to take Kitana back to Earth with him so that they may be married. It was not an extragavant or lavish ceremony by any means – only those who had fought on the side of Earthrealm during the Mortal Kombat tournaments had been invited, with Raiden as the best man. The priest was finally coming to a close with his vows:
"Do you, Kitana, take Liu Kang to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, for richer for poorer, til death do you part?"
"I do"
"Then I now pronounce you man and wife"
Suddenly, without thinking, Kitana leaned forward and kissed Liu Kang. Immediately, everyone gasped. At first, Kitana was confused, but then she realised the catastrophic error she had made. But it was too late for anyone to do anything.
Liu Kang stumbled slightly, and immediately he began to swell to an immense size. He screamed in pain. He was then rapidly turned to normal size, at which point he started vomiting blood all over the floor. No one could do anything except watch in horror. His body swelled once again, to an even greater size this time. This cycle continued for a while, until eventually his body couldn't handle the pressure anymore, and exploded. His internal organs littered the ground.
"Oh god, no" Kitana said to herself.
Suddenly, Mileena appeared next to her. "Hey, nice work there, sis. I couldn't have done it better myself" She chuckled as she teleported away again.
"Er, Kitana?" Sonya said. Kitana turned. "Yes?" Kitana replied.
"I don't suppose you could marry Johnny next, could you?"
