Your name is Kanaya Maryam and you are sitting in very close proximity to the most beautiful girl you have ever seen.

So close, in fact, that the armchair the two of you are sharing is not big enough to provide space in between the two bodies and while you are supposed to be focusing on the book she is holding, all you can think of is the fact that this girl is actually touching you and her arm is against your arm and wow she's really warm and wow her hair is really close to your face and you can smell it and it smells really nice and wow you're finding it hard to process any sort of thought-

Your tangent is interrupted by movement as she leans her head somehow even closer and now your cheeks are mere inches apart and you can feel the warmth radiating off of her as she breathes out. The moment is surreal, and every passing millisecond seems to take ten minutes to occur. This is a fact that you are not entirely opposed to as it allows you to take in every detail- the exact scent she is wearing, her black-lipsticked smile, the tint of her skin and how amazingly soft it looks- you remember for what must be the millionth time since arriving on the meteor how stunningly beautiful Rose is.

"Hey Kanaya." You look up, startled as Vriska Serket enters the room, holding a mug of what appears to be tea. Just like that, the moment is gone. She raises an eyebrow and looks at the two of you, smirking slightly. You feel the jade blood rush to your face and instinctively sit up away from Rose, as if you've been caught doing something wrong. Rose frowns slightly and looks up, clearly sensing the awkward tension in the air.

"Vriska." You reply, shifting uncomfortably in the little space you have in the armchair. You have some… complicated history with Vriska and you have been trying your hardest to avoid any sort of confrontation, as to not stir up any conflicting feelings. Vriska, however, seems to have other plans, as always. Rose lowers the book and looks at you with an expression you can't quite read. Not as if you can always read her expressions anyway, human facial features are just different enough to cause significant confusion. But then again, when has anything with Rose been straightforward?

The other troll girl seems to notice a change in the atmosphere, and before you have time to consider what is happening, she plunks herself into the armchair next to you, decreasing the already scarce space to the point where all three of the occupants are pressed together. You exchange a small surprised look with Rose, who seems just as confused as you are. On your other side, Vriska breaks into a wide grin.

"Am I interrupting anything?" she says with a quiet cackle, leaning over your shoulder to attempt to read the book Rose is holding. Rose's mouth quirks into an amused smile as she holds the book up closer to all three of you, and you see Vriska's satisfied grin as she nudges you softly in the side. You become aware of the fact that you are in even closer proximity to Rose than before, and as you lean your head onto her shoulder, you can't quite manage to suppress a small smile yourself.
