She began this tradition on the night she realized how much she cared.
How lonely they really were.
No matter how tired she was, no matter how much her body ached, she kept it going each day.
The former sidekicks never expected such an intimate action from the alien.
The raven-haired reject would never admit how much he liked this tradition.
The archer didn't hide the fact that he couldn't wait for the next one.
The red-headed princess absolutely loved both of their reactions each time. Despite this going on for a while now, Jason still looked surprised, and tried his best to keep a straight face.
Of course, she noticed.
He probably didn't realize that there was always a small grin on his face every time she gave him a kiss, full on the lips, and whispered "I love you, Jason" in his ear.
As for the other red-head, he would never be embarrassed at all to smile and kiss her back and tell her "I love you" back. It always made her laugh; he acted like such a child when he received his lip contact.
Sometimes, just to keep his goofy, lopsided grin on his face, she would give him a peck on the nose, and he enthusiastically returns it anywhere on her face – cheek, forehead, nose, eyelids – and it only helped them grow closer.
It was freezing the first night she did this, even for her.
Her natural body heat had almost burned out, and she looked slightly paler than before.
As usual, she was in between her two teammates, trying her best to fall asleep.
But for some reason, every time she closed her eyes, she couldn't keep them closed.
She felt so tired, but couldn't sleep.
The green-eyed beauty craned her neck to her right to look at a sleeping bird, whose eyebrows were furrowed together along with a frown.
She turned her body completely to the side and laid a hand on his cheek, and stroked it lightly with her thumb.
His face almost instantly relaxed, which made her purple lips curl up into a smile.
She continued to do this until his blue eyes fluttered open, staring up into her pupil-less ones.
"What're you doing, Kori?" he mumbled.
"You did not look peaceful during your rest" she replied, touching his forehead with hers.
He was way too tired to argue. Not that her actions bothered him.
So, he just nodded his head, only a tad bit, and closed his eyes again.
That was when her lips touched his. His eyes shot open in surprise, the warm and soft sensation immediately waking him.
When she broke off the kiss, she took a look at his face; his eyes were wide, mouth slightly open, with his eyebrows raised as high as possible.
She giggled at his shock and wrapped her arms around his chest before leaning into him, whispering in the sweetest, softest tone, "I love you, Jason."
Before he would start muttering incoherent words, she turned her body to the left and took Roy's face in her tan hands and squished their mouths together, and it wasn't long before he started kissing back.
When she broke apart the contact, she saw the cutest and most tired smile she had ever seen pasted on the boy's face.
Grinning herself, she told him the same way she told the other, "I love you, Roy."
That only made his smile grow bigger.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, giving her a peck on her forehead.
"I love you too, Kori."
She wrapped her golden arms around his neck, nuzzled into him, and closed her eyes.
She was glad she started this tradition.
So very glad.
