Better Than One
It was a long day at Central Headquarters and everyone was about ready to go home. Of course, Mustang would be staying late with Hawkeye at his side with a gun to his head, making sure he signed the forms he was already well overdue for.
The dull room was suddenly brought to brightness before closing time when the door was kicked open in such a familiar way. They hadn't heard the door kicked down like that since...
"Ed!" Havoc called out with a grin. "You been too busy to say hello ever since you got hitched?"
"A little," Ed said as he walked into the full view of the room. Everyone's eyes widened when they saw a baby strapped to Ed's chest.
"Wow, you weren't kidding," Breda said. The kid they used to tease about being so naive about girls and sex had a baby strapped to his chest. A baby.
"Wow, congratulations, Edward!" Fuery called out. "I didn't know that Winry had a baby."
"Sorry about that, we meant to call, but we got a little busy because of the whole thing," Ed said. "Anyway, I'm here to see Mustang. I have to head back to the hotel before Winry blows up about me being late back. We're supposed to catch some dinner together."
"That's nice," Havoc said. "You taking your woman somewhere fancy?"
"More like 'family friendly'," Ed said with a laugh. "I just need to get her out of the house."
"I think it's great that you guys had a baby," Fuery said. "I bet he'll get the best combinations from the both of you."
"You know what's better than one baby?" Ed asked, grabbing everyone's attention. He quickly whipped around to face the opposite direction, revealing another baby strapped to his back. "Two."
"Whoa!" Havoc exclaimed. "I didn't think you had it in you, man!"
"Yeah, apparently twins run in the family," Ed said as he turned around.
"How do you tell them apart?" Fuery asked.
"Winry does," Ed answered. "But I'm pretty sure Anthony is on my chest and Ethan's on my back. Ethan's a little shit that likes to pout back there."
"Way to talk about your kid, chief," Havoc said.
"Yeah, yeah." Ed rolled his eyes. "Anyway, Mustang's in, right?"
"He's where he's always at," Havoc said before Ed disappeared into Mustang's office. "Do you think he'll still yell, even with babies on him?"
"Maybe; it's Ed," Breda said. "Still shocked that he got two kids in one go, though. Didn't know he had it in him."
"Me neither," Havoc said.
