Every night before she goes to bed, Reimu neatly folds her uniform and places it next to her futon. For the past week she has woken up to find her uniform unfolded, thrown carelessly on the floor beside her, simply not the way she left it. The first day she didn't think much of it. After it continued to happen, she resolved to find out the cause.
She lied in her bed and pretended to sleep. After what felt like hours, she heard the floorboards of the shrine squeak. Reimu did her best to look asleep as she listened to the culprit next to her. Reimu chanced a look and found the familiar sight of her best friend, Marisa Kirisame. Marisa picked up the uniform and tip-toed out.
'What?' Reimu was absolutely baffled. What could Marisa want with her uniform? Reimu quietly got out of bed and peeked out of her room. She watched as Marisa changed into her uniform.
'What?' Marisa finished changing and walked outside. Reimu quietly followed.
As she peeked out from her shrine she watched Marisa walk up to Cirno and the three fairies of light. They were too far away so she couldn't make out what they were saying but the fairies were acting as if this were completely normal.
Suddenly they ran a short distance from each other and started thrusting their arms and moving their bodies around oddly. Deciding to try and get a closer look, Reimu snuck behind a nearby bush.
"Pew pew pew!" Apparently there were sound effects too. The thrusting of the arms, the weird body movements, the sound effects... They were pretending to play danmaku.
"Yin Yang Orb!"
And Marisa was pretending to be her.
'What?' Reimu unconsciously shifted her body in discomfort making the bush rustle.
"Who's there!?" Cirno being the closest to the bush heard her and called out. Everyone stopped what they were doing and waited for whoever was behind the bush to come out. Reimu sighed and slowly stood. As soon as they saw Reimu, the fairies bolted leaving Marisa behind.
Too shocked to do anything, Marisa just stares at Reimu with her mouth open.
"Marisa..." Reimu called out to her friend but she got no response.
Marisa was in shock. Her best friend, her rival, the person she secretly admired... had just found her pretending to be her and to top it off, she was wearing clothing she stole from her. Marisa continued to stare but suddenly her expression turned somber and she looked away.
"There's a lot about me you don't know."
Reimu sighed and ran her hand through her hair. 'What?'
Marisa walked to Reimu and grabbed her by the collar.
"T-this never happened, alright?" Marisa yelled, shaking her.
"Alright, alright!" Marisa let go of Reimu and ran back into the shrine. She came back out shortly dressed in her own clothes.
"This never happened." she said one last time before she got on her broom and flew off.
Reimu watched her until she completely disappeared into the night sky. Sighing, she headed back to bed. She only had one last thought before sleep took her.
'What?'
That's that. I'm not really sure what made me write this, but I hope you enjoyed it. Leave a comment or favorite or something so I know it's not awful (I'm gunning for 1 whole review). Thanks for reading!
