Taking a Break

"Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles." - Psalm 2:3

A/N: Sam's hoping his brother's not going to be swept away.

Breaking Out

"Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices..." - Exodus 23:24

Their contacts had all agreed that something was going down on the college campus. They'd been on stakeout for hours, but nothing had happened.

Sam sat up, jogging his brother awake, as a young man began to convulse.

Dean looked on in confusion as everyone around them started to break out into a bizarre, jolting dance.

"What's happening, are they all possessed?" asked a wide-eyed Sam.

"No, I think they're... doing the Harlem Shake," answered Dean, with an increasing grin.

Sam frowned at the strange look taking hold on his brother's face. "Dean, you're not getting any ideas, are you?"

A/N: Dean will do anything for family. A conjectured end to season 8.

Breaking the Rules

"So I took the two tablets and threw them out of my hands, breaking them to pieces before your eyes." - Deuteronomy 9:17

"We did it!" cried Dean, throwing a jubilant arm around Castiel's shoulder.

He picked up on the angel's dour mood. "What's wrong? We've locked off Heaven and Hell forever. I thought we'd agreed?"

"There's a footnote. It says I'm supposed to go back to Heaven; and can never return," said Castiel, reading the full prophesies for the first time.

"Well, I never heard of a rule I didn't wanna break," argued Dean.

He plucked the stone tablets from Castiel's hand and let them drop to the floor where they shattered into a thousand pieces.

"Whoops," said Dean, with a smirk.

A/N: Just Crowley tormenting Dean. The usual Dean/Crowley nonsense.

Time for a Break

Dean wasn't sure how long he'd been kept as a near-prisoner in the King of Hell's palatial mansion, but from studying the guard detail he reckoned he'd lulled them into a false sense of security.

So, when he saw his chance, he made a break for it.

He came to a sudden halt as Crowley stepped out from the shadows in front of him. "Going so soon? I'm hurt; weren't you even going to say goodbye?"

Dean just glared in response.

Crowley put on a faux-innocent expression. "If you wanted a lift home, you only had to ask," he laughed.
