"You are my sunshine,"

Silent tears streamed down the brunet's face as he brushed blonde bangs away from olive green eyes, olive green eyes that were slowly losing their light. Crimson liquid spilled onto the cracked pavement, wet and sticky, as the Englishman laid against Lovino. His usually pale face was even paler as he looked up at the man holding him, his breath coming quick and unsteady.

"My only sunshine,"

Death was a common thing out here. They both knew it was crawling up on them slowly, like a weed. But neither of them expected the moment when suddenly there was a gunshot from a man clad in uniform, assuming that Arthur was the zombie he wasn't. Of course, there were apologies. But apologies wouldn't cover manslaughter. Apologies wouldn't be able to tuck Arthur into his grave when the moment came where all life left him.

"You make me happy when skies are grey,"

A shuttering laugh escaped from Arthur's lips as he reached up and brushed the tears away from Lovino's face, his shaky words not faltering as the movement of his arm stretched the skin by the wound, causing him to wince in pain. It was a bullet to the chest. Something that in their conditions was deadly. Maybe if this had been before the apocalypse then it would of been fixable, but if this had been before the apocalypse none of this would be happening.

"You'll never know dear, how much I love you,"

The words finally faltered as Arthur coughed, his olive green eyes widening slightly as he watched blood splatter out of his mouth. He looked up at Lovino, his green eyes wide and afraid, and his breath coming quick. After awhile of pained waiting, the Brit exhaled shakily and the hand that had been resting against Lovino's cheek dropped as the last of his life drained out of him. A strangled noise came from the back of Lovino's throat and the brunet's hand flashed down and cupped Arthur's quickly cooling cheek. His face screwed up, but he took a deep breath before finishing Arthur's dying lullaby.

"Please… don't take my sunshine away."
