The Doctor sat alone on the grassy hill gazing over the small village below. The sun was setting over the hills in the distance casting an orangey light across the land.

He was waiting.

Waiting for his friend Amy to return from the little village, where she was collecting personal items, to the hill where he sat and his little blue sat resting.

Lately he hadn't had anytime by himself to think, although thinking was a hard thing to do as many things were whizzing though his brain at one moment.

The loss of Rory pained him and the fact Amy now had no recognition of her once one love caused more pain in the Doctors two hearts.

But also the feelings he felt towards Amy were attempting to stir in the pit of his stomach, the same feelings that had once awoken for Rose.

Amy was a fiery Girl, so much passion and confidence in one girl made her so striking to anyone that met her.

Her smile lightened up the day and when he saw those tear fall from her eyes in their many adventures his heart broke knowing there was nothing he could do than tell her it would all be ok.

He feared for her life many times and not for his own, he life was worth little compared to this girl who has so much to come and experience.

The small things she does such as tilt her head to the side and smile softly while he tinkered around the console of the TARDIS often caught his attention and made him smile.

He was so caught up in his thinking he hadn't noticed that Amy had sat down next to him and was resting her head upon his shoulder.

"What you thinking about?" she whispered in her Scottish accent.

"Everything" he whispered back not taking his eyes off the setting orange sun in the distance.

"Its beautiful" she murmured.

"It is really is" he sighed before getting to his feet. He reached his hand down to help Amy up before unlocking the TARDIS doors.

"Where to next, Pond?" he asked as he held open the door grinning.

"Surprise me" she giggled as she dragged a large suitcase though the doors.

The Doctor thought for a moment before setting a date and place into the system.

"Ready?" he called to Amy who was dropping the case to side of the console.

"Ready" she stated.

The Doctor then pulled the handle that sent them hurtling though space and time together.
