It had all started with a mission. In this mission his TenTen had to play a traditonal kunochi role, the seducer. She played the role flawless, and the mission went off without a hitch. But the mission was when it all started. It was the first time he could remmebr feeling that heavy sick feeling in his stomach, like he had swallowed rocks and they were weighing heavy in his belly. After a few weeks of this feeling, he was beginning to think he was ill. Sure, it this ..sickness.. did not effect his performance as a shinobi, but the feeling was uncomfortable to say the least, and it seemed to get worse around his teamates, especially his sparring partner, his TenTen.
So he went to find Sakura. She was Tsundaes' appretice and therefore surely would know what was wrong with him.
Sakura listened to his symptons without saying a word. She asked the normal questions, such as when did it start? What does it feel like? Etc. However there was question she hestitated to ask.
"What were you doing when it started?" Neji explained, he was wtaching TenTen fulfil her mission requirement by sleeping with the client, so that they could get information out of him. Sakura went pink, and for some miracle managed to not look amused, she doubted that Neji would find it was amusing as she did.
So she sighed, and asked to sit down, noting his mometary look of blind panic on his face. For a genius that boy was dense, he probably thought Skaura was going to tell him he had cancer or something similar.
"Neji," She began gently, "Your not sick-" Neji made a noise as if to interupt her she held up her hand. He shut up, remembering that medical ninjutsu was not the only thing she had learnt from Tsundae.
"Neji," She tried again, "What you are feeling is an emotion, your feeling betrayed, by TenTen, for accepting that mission, and sleeping with that man for the mission. I know becuase I have felt that weight in my belly everyday since Sasuke left, and no dount will continue to feel it for the rest of my life,"
Neji sat dumbstruck, with this information several slots feel into place, and suddenly he found an even bigger shock to his system. AWithout a word to Sakura, he left out the window heading towards TenTens House. Rather than being angry, Sakura chuckled and went to go find Ino.
Neji was sweating bullets, and TenTen couln't help but be concerned as she placed the tea in front of him. She raised an eyebrow but didn't say a word, as she sat door at her table and took a sip of her tea. Whatever was on Neji's mind she was sure she'd find out soon.
"Tenten,"
"Yes,"
"I realsied something today, and this may shock you, howevere," At this point Neji went white, ghosts began to look peachy compared to him. TenTen dropped her cup, and stood up to go sit by his chair, terrified. This action did not make what he was trying to say any easier. He refused to look at her, just kept staring into his cup of tea.
"TenTen, i have begun to relise that I have certain feelings for you that go beyond what I should feel for a teamate and sparring partner, I am beginning to think that I am in love with you,"
Neji was knocked off his chair, in the events that followed, TenTen tackled him to the ground, and her lips met his without a moment of hestation. Breathless from kissing she mumured in his ear, as his arms found there way around her.
"I've been waiting for you to say that for seven years, Neji,"
