It's the first day. The first day of another year of hell, watching over a pair of tributes who won't leave the games alive. Pathetic, poor, District 11. And sadly, that's where I'm stuck. One more year, I keep telling myself. Just one more year stuck with that district of ingrate vermin. But no. The president refuses to let me move to a higher district- says that eventually District 11 will win one. That day is the day that my hair falls out. Which is extremely unlikely.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh; it's not the children's fault, after all. It's not even the district. And I hate to lay the blame on the Capitol, but sometimes, the enemy is closest to home.

That aside...

I sit back in the reclining chair, closing my eyes, and pressing my hand to my forehead. It's so hot, I can hardly understand how these people stand it. Of course, they must be used to it by now, living here and all. The modified temperatures of the Capitol can't be found just anywhere.

I brush back some of my cyan-colored hair, blinking a few times as the district finally comes into focus below the hovercraft. I sit forward again, as a voice rings in my ear.

"I know, I know." I say.

I suppose I can survive this for another year. But if the President doesn't switch my district next year, I'm leaving the Capitol. For good.

Well...I finally decided to try my hand at writing one of these. However, my take on the SYOT is very unique as compared to others; I will be telling the story from the point-of-view of Capitolian citizens. Don't worry, I will focus on /all/ of your tributes. This just helps me move through the pre-games stuff more quickly. This does also mean one good thing (that is very in your favor, I might add.) I will be updating almost daily. (Insert applause...no?
