This was just a small idea I had and thought it would be nice to write.
The picture belongs to me, and if you would like to find the full image, you can find it on my DeviantArt.
It was July 7th at the time.
A child no more than twelve years old stood at the scene of a horrendous massacre. Blood sprayed the walls, the perfectly soft carpet, and most of all his delicately smooth hands. Emotionless black eyes shifted from left to right as his nails receded, pointed tips flattening into regular shape. His eyes were shaped almost like fish, as some would say, but it didn't bother him in the slightest.
It was when he had returned home to Kukuroo Mountain that he found out the news. A second younger brother had been born on that day while he was out, said to hold fantastic abilities for the future of the family. The Zoldyck assassins… famous for their work in the underworld, for the fear they struck in people's hearts. It wasn't a false rumour as some thought, for they were as deadly and monstrous as some sought for their work.
"Is this him?" The boy asked his mother, quietly nursing her newborn in her arms.
The child lay quiet, no tears running from his eyes as one would briefly after their birth. His silver hair glistened from the light of the room, palely flawless skin and an adorable face to go with it. A blood covered towel wrapped around him, and Kikyou nodded her head. She was entranced by her child, and she knew simply from looking; this was the one.
"Oh Killua…" She spoke with a beam of hope in her tone, "You'll grow up to be a strong assassin…"
Noticing her eldest child standing by, she turned her face to him, a mask covering the upper half of her face, but an obvious note of interest expressing her curiosity. He merely watched the newborn in her arms with a dead-stare, seeming to take in his features for the first time.
"Illumi." Kikyou addressed to him.
"I want you to teach him all you know. Make him into an assassin greater than you are…" The red point of her mask grew smaller, as if she were narrowing her eyes in a threatening behaviour to the eldest. Being the eldest, it was within his jurisdiction to raise the would-be inheritor of the Zoldyck occupation in the art of killing. He would not be alone however, as his father would be there to aid him in the more advanced natures within the future.
Naturally though, Illumi nodded his head once towards her. "Of course, Mother."
It was that night, that he could finally talk to his new little brother without the watchful eyes of his other brother Milluki, or anyone else for that matter. The room was noiseless, darkness filling each corner as the boy skilfully snuck out of the shadows from the abyss. He treaded over to the cot his little brother lay in, still heavily asleep as he saw him before in his mother's arms. He looked so much like their Father, it was no wonder they chose him. But looks aside, he knew from a mere glimpse of Killua's power to come. He was a born assassin…
Dead eyes continued to watch over the newborn, and a pale finger gently brushed against Killua's cheek. It seemed to be cold to him, and he shivered at the touch, brows creasing as a reaction and disconcertedly moving around in his place. He was so warm… is that how they always felt when they were that young?
Retracting his hand from the child, he walked over to the corner of the room, and sat down bringing his knees to his chest, arms loosely wrapping around his joints. He dropped his head down, and gently closed his eyes to sleep while protecting his little brother.
"You're merely a puppet of darkness now, Kil."
But until you can speak, until you can walk or even fend for yourself… I'll always be watching you.
Any reviews would be amazing!
If any of you would like, I may continue this. :)
