"Nazi! Nazi! Kill him"
"You worked as a doctor in Birkenau.."
"You started there your practice as a doctor in 1943..."
"You killed Agnezhka Toffel, Albert Hirsh ....... "
"You deserve to die ..."
No it can't be real, it can't be true. This is not true! He is not a killer, he is not a murder! They say he killed women, they say he killed kids. This is not who he is. He helped those people, he helped them to live, he gave them life over and over again, what about people he saved? Of course there were many who died, he remember the girl named Helena she was young, about 20 he couldn't save her, he had to work on a different case, more important, German soldier broke his hand he had to help him, he was more important, he was German, he was pure, she ..... she wasn't a person. That's what they used to say.
He can see her big brown eyes even now, deep eyes were piercing him. She looked so much as a human, no she wasn't what they used to say, she wasn't the animal. Are those eyes of an animal? And she was dying of bleeding, dying of pain and he wanted to help her so badly but he had to help the soldier. Because if he didn't, he would die and in this in this he felt guilty.
He felt guilty for Helena, for the girl who he left to die.
But he didn't feel guilty for what they were saying. He didn't want those people to die.
He was young so young and everybody around was around Jews. They were wrong, ugly people. Too dirty to live on this planet and then when he got a job in Birkneau he saw who they were.
He tried to be cold to them, he didn't want to be their friend but still ..... he knew that he can't be that cruel as his co workers.
Co workers who now blame him that he was the one who did all this crazy experiments, that he killed thousands of people, they need names, they need someone to show, they need people to calm down so they made guilty everybody.
Even him Derek Shepherd....
He was now glad his father is dead, what would he say? How could he look into his eyes? His father, so brave, so nice, so calm person.
He felt ashamed, he felt miserable and still he didn't feel anything.
The time has stopped, he heard world what they were saying, he heard how they are screaming at him ....
same people who were loving Hitler as a God now are judging him, yelling at him.
And he felt alone, so alone.
Waiting to death, waiting till the death will come
and maybe he is guilty, maybe it is all true.
Maybe he could save more and he didn't.
And then it came, the last day, the day when they decided that he will be hanged.
He saw some audience, good at least he won't be alone, at least there are some people who will look at him, at least there will be someone.
And then he saw her..... Helena, her big brown eyes were looking at him
with the same look which they had the day when she died.
The look was comforting, most like "I'm waiting for you, we are waiting for you"
Yes people say the last judge is the most important, he has never thought that there is any God but if there is.... Will he forgive him?
And then it was here, the rope, how strong rope!
He could smell it, feel it....
The death was coming and he was ready.
He was waiting for it with open arms,
He couldn't breathe but his vision wasn't blurry. He could see all those faces, the sad ones, the happy ones but mostly of them were comfort, calm.
And he knew he was right. They forgave him, she forgave him ...........
