Paint Me to Life

My inspiration: (A poem I wrote; a simple line from it)

They were once again in the same spot like they were every Thursday afternoon after Phoenix's art classes ended. He sat next to her on the flower-pattern picnic blanket, simply enjoying each others company as well as the beautiful fall day. A single orange leaf fell into the girl's bright red hair; almost camouflaged perfectly. Phoenix chuckled as he gently plucked it away, placing it on the ground to join the many other fallen leafs.

Oh, how Phoenix loved looking at her. He could simply gaze at her forever, contently. Suddenly, he got an idea.

"Dollie, can I paint you?" It came so suddenly, it surprised even himself.

"Umm, what was that Feenie?" She thought her ears had just deceived her. Phoenix blushed before answering again.

"I was wondering if you would pose for me so I could paint a picture of you." His face's hue now matched that of his bright pink sweater. Iris' face wasn't any better.

"You want to paint me Feenie? Why is that?" A small, shy smile made a way onto her face.

"Well, I hate it when I can't see you so; I'd like a picture to remind me of you." Iris couldn't believe her ears, it was one of the sweetest things she had ever heard.

"Umm, sure Feenie. If you really want to."

"Oh great! It shouldn't take to long Dollie, I promise!" His enthusiasm was back full force. In a flurry, Phoenix had pulled out all the needed materials. Next, quickly setting up an easel and canvas. He had a large smile on his face; he was clearly excited.

"Okay Dollie, pose!" Iris blushed; she had never posed for any type of picture before.

"Um, Feenie, I don't know how…" She felt extremely embarrassed. Phoenix merely smiled.

"It's okay Dollie! Just look my way and give me one of your pretty smiles!" He was practically bouncing up and down now. She did so, giving a genuine smile, and making sure to keep her vivid black eyes open. She was still very embarrassed.

"Perfect Dollie! Just like that, stay that way!" He then got to work in a way only three years of college art classes could have prepared. Iris was trying to keep her pose, being careful to blink as minimal as possible. Half an hour later, Phoenix told Iris she was free to move again. She let out a sigh of relief; she wasn't used to being so still for very long.

Phoenix was now painting the picture, being sure to get the right shade of his girlfriend's hair.

Much later, as Iris was munching on a cookie (Looking cute as ever) Phoenix announced his completion. He was now literally bouncing up and down, with the widest grin Iris had ever seen. (And spending a lot of time with Phoenix, that was wide)

He showed her the finished picture and Iris' breath left her body. It was…Iris could only call it perfect.

Her (dyed) red hair was perfectly painted, keeping her unique braided style. Her snow white dress was applied perfectly to her petite form. Her usual parasol was sitting carefully in her small hand, resting on her exposed shoulder. Everything about it was perfect, right down to her amazing smile, and Iris couldn't be happier.

"Did I do a good Job Dollie? I think I did, but what do you think?!" Iris quickly jumped to her feet and rushed over to Phoenix, embracing him tightly.

"Oh Feenie, its perfect." They then shared a chaste kiss. It wasn't to deep, but it couldn't have been more meaningful.

Would you envision me as I do you, in such great detail, that I could paint you too?
