Blue Angel
In this unfair life
carrying on your back the curse
of the unfortunate Hikari family
you fight day after day
living with torment and pain.
You struggle for survival
and when you open your eyes in the morning
and are surprised you're still alive
you throw a look at the nothing
and wonder what's the point
to continue with the fight.
Knowing that you are
a living danger for the rest of the world
you wonder what is still keeping you
here.
But you don't realize the truth
that somewhere out there a boy
is happy you're part of his life.
You don't realize all the good
that you bring.
Because you sacrifice yourself to protect him!
You don't realize
that just as he needs you
you need him as well.
He is what
still keeps you here.
He brings you even the few
rays of sunlight… in the endless darkness.
He is the red spot
on the empty canvas
that is your life.
But this is enough
to stop you
in your thoughts about putting an end.
This triggers you
to start the new day
and to go on
with the battle.
That is why,
because he is the thing,
that keeps you,
you are ready to protect him
at any price;
even if it means
to not be able to be near him,
to not be able to think about him,
to have to suppress your feelings
towards him;
even if it means
to have to put an end to your own existence.
You will protect him.
At any price.
That is why,
Hikari Satoshi,
you are the real angel
in the story.
Sad, pent in, lonely, exhausted,
lost, living in pain,
caring,
you are
a Blue Angel.
