Prologue.
There are tales passed down through the generations of mankind.
Tales of heroes, monsters, dragons, gods, angels, and demons.
These tales have existed since times long forgotten, during ages no can recall.
These tales are nothing more but mere myth to the world, legends past down in history.
The tales were past down by either parent to child, priest to saints, madman to the ignorant masses.
Whether people believe them or not is entirely up to them.
But these tales are very much true.
All stories come from somewhere, someone must've created them, if not then why do they exist?
Why do these stories exist when there is no proof of it ever happening?
There is no true answer to this question, only what little truth it can provide.
One does not need proof of gods existing, one does not need proof of battles between man and monster to be true.
The only thing that the people need is the truth that the story still exists as it has lived through the minds of the countless.
And from the countless, the stories are made legends through out history.
…
But.
The stories that needs proof are the ones not told.
Yes, the untold stories are the ones that need proof. These stories are the ones that receive no fame, no love, nor any recognition.
Reason being is that no one knows them save for a selected few.
The selected few choose not to tell these stories for reasons unknown to others.
While many events that have played out in the world, each one forging the world as it is today.
The unknown factor in it are the events that were kept hidden from the world.
The world will always have tales of untold events, they will always have the stories of the untold hero who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of others.
These heroes will have their names forgotten into memory, their names lost to time as their very existence withers into nothingness.
Especially the name of the one who gave his life for the world.
(Sea of Souls)
Since the dawn of time, the realm that exists between life and death, fantasy and reality, dreams and nightmares, time and space.
The Sea of Souls is a realm that resides in the souls of all living things.
If a being is alive, then it has a soul.
For countless centuries the Sea of Souls have housed the souls of many.
The many that resides in the sea are the strong souls that the world of Earth gave birth too.
These souls were given the honor to be born from the Sea of Souls after death have taken them in each of their lifetimes.
It is here that the souls are given the honor to once again takes arms to fight foes they never thought as they are summoned by those worthy of great power.
Persona.
Persona is what this power is called, a power that only a selected few can have in every generation.
In every generation, those who wield the power of persona are destined to rise above the masses as they reach new heights that they never thought possible.
Such heights would lead them to find answers to questions that they did not ask, to paths that laid hidden to them, to truths that were kept hidden from them.
Fate has deemed the selected few to wield this power, but fate also has a price for said.
The price was the trials that laid before. The task that was given to them was a task meant to save the world from those that seek its destruction.
That is the price fate has asked of the Persona Users.
But Fate has a twisted sense of humor, for it may sometimes ask for something more.
Fate may ask that for the task to be complete, a sacrifice must be made. A sacrifice of one life for the lives of the world.
And Persona User out of the history of them has made this sacrifice and this soul is one that Fate has never been kind to.
(Sea of Souls, ? P.O.V.)
Everyone lives in the shadow of death.
Everyday that pass everyone is slowly moving closer to the inevitable.
People fight it, deny it, accept it, it matters not for death is the end of everything.
But the life after death…is a question everyone asked.
It is a question that can never answered in the world of the living, only in the world of the dead.
Many believe in Heaven, others Hell, few Purgatory, but none believe in the realm between all.
The Sea of Souls, the realm where time and space are meaningless for it does not exist. A realm where all can enter, but never leave. A realm where all can find it but never see it save for a selected few.
It is here within the Sea of Souls that I have formed my domain, a domain whose purpose is one of great responsibility.
It is in my domain that I have kept to my duties in guarding the sleeping goddess from ever awaking.
This has been my duty for countless years for my purpose in safeguarding humanity from destruction.
For years I have stood alone guarding the golden doors of the sealed goddess, making sure that the doors will never open.
At first there was nothing but myself and the sealed doors, but as time passed the world around me began to shift.
Soon what surrounded me was nothing soon became a grand replica of a place I call home.
Tatsumi Port Island, my home, the place of my birth and but also my grave.
The place where both my fondest and painful memories resides.
With the creation of my home came along the creation of other structures.
One such structure is the place where my trial began, the place of my great sacrifice.
Tartarus, the alter to the Dark Goddess Nyx.
Although an alter to her, it no longer serves that purpose.
For it now serves as my keep in my duties to safeguard the seal that lies at the top of it.
Many other structures came to be as it brought more life to the Sea of Souls.
Although the Sea of Souls has taken the form of my home, I knew that it can never truly be my 'Home'.
But regardless it is here that I begin my life anew.
Within the tower, I kneel down to the crystal throne that stands in front of me. I am garbed is armor with both my shield and sword at my side. My armor was crafted by the great craftsmen of history. My armor, shield, and sword all made from the purest of iron, forge to withstand the might of the most powerful of monsters. All this along with my trusted Evoker on my side.
My shield is a round shield of moderate size, clean as stainless steel my shield is with symbols all around it. Each symbol taking up the form of all my social links of all 22 Arcanas.
My sword shining in the light of the world as broadsword such as mines looked to be more mechanical than any other sword that I've ever seen. Engravings on them drawn in the color of blue that matches my hair. This blade was given power from the bonds I have made.
For my armor, it does not cover all. Although it is made of metal it is surprisingly light allowing me free movement as if I am wearing my natural clothes. My armor only covers my chest, legs, and arms while exposing some parts not covered by it. The exposed parts are covered by black clothing from my upper chest to my armored feet. I wear no helmet as I do not need as for any who saw me now, they would say that I am a hero ready for battle.
The throne in front of me belongs to me, but I do not sit in it, for thrones are meant for kings and rulers, but I am neither. I am only a boy.
The Personas that serve me don't see me as a boy but see me as something greater. A Prince, A King, A Ruler, Savior, A Hero, and…a Messiah.
These are all the things that they call me and for that reason is why they have created me the crystal throne.
But while they see me as such things, I will always see myself as Minato Arisato, Second Year student at Gekkoukan High School, Field Leader of SEES, and friend to many. That is who I am and nothing more.
Out in the distance sea that has formed in the Sea of Souls stood a lone figure.
This lone figure was covered in full body armor. The design of it was unlike any armor ever created. Each piece deformed and made to look like a piece of destroyed artwork only mixed back together into a more disfigured form.
The lone figure looked to be a Dark Knight that exist only in nightmares, a story that parents would tell their children in bed at night.
On his back was a massive dark blade that was just as deformed as the Knight, in the middle of the sword is a red orb that emanated immense power.
The Knight stood in the water staring out into the sea of nothingness before slowly turning around to face those that stood on the beach shore of the Sea of Souls.
What stood within the Knight's gaze was an army of massive proportions.
An army consisting of all the servants of the ruler that resides in the tower.
On a balcony in the tower, I looked over the world around me, at my side were Personas that I knew all to well.
I have fought along side these Personas in battle along with those that commanded them.
To my right was Caesar, Castor, Cerberus, Kala-Nemi, and Hermes. To my left was Pallas Athena, Artemisia, Isis, and Juno. And behind me was Orpheus, Thanatos, and Messiah.
These are the Personas of SEES for even in my death my friends always fight beside me.
I saw the knight out in the distance and I knew that his very presence spoke of danger and destruction.
For the Knight was a being that must be stop no matter what.
"Caesar, Castor." I called out to the two personas near me.
Both looked at me expectantly waiting for my orders.
"Lead the charge." I told them and the two flew off into the distance to join the army.
"Thanatos, Orpheus, Messiah." I called out to my three closes Personas. They stood waiting for my orders. "The three of you are with me, as for the rest of you know what to do."
The rest of the Personas of SEES minus the specific three flew out into the distance towards the battlefield.
"Savior of Man today we cross blades!" The dark knight announces as he raised his blade and various shadows of all shapes and sizes came bursting forth from the sea.
Seeing the challenge given to me, I raised my blade in acceptance to his.
(The Beach, Third P.O.V.)
The Shadow horde came charging into the domain, they thought that their victory will be easy, but the army of the Messiah was there to greet them.
Raising his sword Caesar shouted at the top of his lungs.
"CHARGE!"
Caesar and the other personas charged at the coming enemy, fearless they were to face the enemy head on as they all gave their battle cry.
And from the tower flew the ancient's dragons of old to clears the skies of the shadows that darken it.
On the beach, both armies of light and darkness met with each other as both sides clashed with one another.
Every legend, every culture, every figure of history fought against the horde that sought to destroy everything in its path.
Kings of old cleaved through the enemy with their blades of valor, heroes carved their way through the enemy ranks, demon devoured the shadow with their might, angels burned them away with their holy light, nightmarish monsters of legend brought fear upon them, titans shook the ground beneath them.
While the horde of shadows were countless, the army of legends was undaunted.
The Shadows may have fought light ten of their brethren, but the Personas fought like a thousand of them.
"Lose yourselves in the heart of battle and be REBORN!" The Knight shouted as swung his sword to the ground sending out a wave of energy towards the incoming Personas of SEES.
They dodge the attack as Artemisia came around and started unleashing ice spells at the Knight.
The Knight deflected the spells to the ground around forming a small foundation made of it until one spell unleashed by Artemisia froze the Knight solid.
Trismegistus saw the dark knight's frozen form inside the block of ice. Seeing that as an opportunity, he charged at him.
"Trismegistus WAIT!" Isis called out to him, but her voice fell of death's ears as Trismegistus was already near the knight.
Trismegistus was about to strike the knight, but before he could, the icy prison of the dark knight burst open and an arm quickly shot out of it grabbing hold of Trismegistus neck.
Trismegistus struggled to break free from the knight's grip as the knight proved that his strength was far greater than his.
The Knight lowered Trismegistus until they were face to face with each other.
"Weak." The Knight said before hurling Trismegistus towards a flying Isis sending them both away.
With the two of them gone, the Knight focus his attention to the incoming of a three headed hell hound.
Cerberus, the guardian of the Underworld a being of both fire and darkness came with his snarling three head along with his companion Kala-Nemi.
Kala-Nemi the spirit of the Zodiac rush towards the Knight with a lightning charged fist intending to send the Knight flying, but the Knight simply side step the attack.
Kala-Nemi tried again and again to hit the Knight but he dodges each one of them.
Kala-Nemi tried to hit him again, but with one quick swing of his sword, the Knight slashed his arm away. Kala-Nemi tried attacking with his other arm but the results were the same as before.
Seeing the state Kala-Nemi was in, the Knight kicked him away.
The Knight then raised his arm towards the incoming Cerberus. Cerberus heads came biting down on the Knight's arm intending to mangle it.
But seeing that their attack wasn't working the three heads of Cerberus tried breathing out fire to help.
But before they could, the Knight swung his arm down slamming Cerberus into the ground before stabbing his sword into Cerberus's back.
Cerberus gave out a loud cry of pain forcing him to let go of the Knight's arm. The Knight then drag Cerberus with his sword still impale in him before throwing across the battlefield.
Artemisia and Pallas Athena then came around to attack the Knight.
The two rushed at him with Pallas Athena giving a full charge towards the Knight.
The Knight simply dodge to the side to avoid only to be met with a hit from Artemisia's whip.
Artemisia swung her whip around from the distance hitting the Knight every time.
The Knight began deflecting the blows with his sword as he began to parry the strikes.
Artemisia swung her whip and wrapped around the Knight's arm in which he pulled on bringing her towards him.
The Knight soon punch Artemisia the moment she got close sending her away.
The Knight then sidestep out of the way as Pallas Athena thrust her spear at him.
Despite Athena's skills, the Knight manage to avoid all of her strikes. Every swing and thrust of her spear miss the Knight.
With one more thrust at the Knight, Athena became surprise that the Knight caught her spear with his free hand.
"Damn you." Athena growled at the Knight as she struggled to get her spear free.
The Knight ripped the spear out of her hand and swung his sword sending her away.
The Knight then jumped into the air and came down onto Athena with his sword in the air.
Seeing the knight, Athena raised her shield to block the blow. The attack was block but Athena struggle to hold back the immense strength behind it.
The Knight kept striking the shield in an effort to hit her.
Although her shield held against the sword Athena could see that her shield was beginning to crack.
Soon Athena's shield broke into pieces leaving her defenseless.
Seeing her defenseless form, the Knight brought his sword for one final blow against her.
As he Knight was about deliver the final blow to Athena, an explosion erupted nearby causing the Knight to stop his blade mid swing and looked towards the source of the explosion.
Bursting forth from the explosion, Minato Arisato rode on one of his other Personas with his sword drawn. The Persona he chose as his steed was the Unicorn a majestic horse of fairy tale along with Orpheus, Thanatos, and Messiah following behind him.
"Finally, a challenge." The Knight said as he turned his attention to Minato.
The Knight then summoned a large magical circle around himself.
"The hollow shell of despair, I summon to you unleash your chaos." The Knight chanted before a beam of energy shot into the sky creating an even bigger magical circle and from that magical circle a large asteroid come forth from it as well as smaller magical circles formed around it, it began shooting out energizes meteors that shot out into the battlefield hitting all that got in its way.
With the creation of the magical circle in the sky, rough rocky platforms emerge from the ground as they began to float in the air.
Minato and Unicorn jumped from one platform to another all while trying their best to avoid the incoming meteors.
The two of them drew near the Knight but as soon as they landed on another platform a meteor crashed into it causing it to be destroyed in an explosion.
The explosion caused Minato to lose his grip on Unicorn as well as his hold on his sword. He was sent flying into the air.
But as I was flying, I soon spotted my sword embedded into another platform.
So with his right hand, Minato muster power into it before shooting out a tether made of light towards his blade.
The tether attached itself to my sword and I felt myself being reeled in towards it.
Once he grabbed his sword, he then spun around it before shooting off into the sky to face his foe.
"EREBUS!" Minato called out to the Knight who has been named Erebus.
The Dark Knight Erebus saw Minato coming, so he swung his sword sending another energy blast at him.
Seeing the blast, Minato raised his shield and deflected the blast towards the giant magical circle in the sky destroying it.
"Impressive." Erebus commented as Minato landed behind him.
"Quiet." Minato said before he spun around and locked blades with Erebus.
As the floating platforms began to crumble with the disappearance of Erebus's magical circle, Minato and Erebus battle.
Both sides threw out slashes and strike to each other, but both failed to make their mark as both warriors either dodge or block the strikes that came at them.
Minato tried slashing as Erebus again, but Erebus caught his blade in mid swing.
Minato tried to free his sword, but Erebus kept it in place.
"I grow tired of this game." Erebus said as he started glowing.
"That glow." Minato said in alarm as he finally freed his sword from Erebus and backed away.
"Let darkness devour all, soar wings of the night eclipse." The Knight chanted as he brought is blade in front of him to reveal the red orb in the middle glowing.
Soon a burst of energy erupted from the sword blasting Minato away as the energy from the sword swirled around Erebus in a dark cloud.
Minato landed on another platform and saw what has become of Erebus. Within the cloud of energy around him, Minato saw that Erebus has taken on another form.
Dispersing his energy, Erebus has revealed his new form of a giant flying gargoyle.
"Rrrrrrrraaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Erebus roared out into the sky of his new form before facing Minato.
Erebus swipe Minato with his claw, but Minato jumped out of the way in time into the air.
Erebus soon came up to Minato and attacked him once more.
Erebus tried to punch Minato, but he raised his shield blocking the strike, but as he blocked it he couldn't block the attack from Erebus's other hand.
Soon Minato was sent soaring into the air.
Back on the battlefield bellow the Personas were still fighting on against the Shadows.
One such persona was one of great beauty to many and skillful to all.
A knight this persona is wielding a sword and dress in armor.
The brown-haired beauty of a persona was none other than the hero of France, the Maid of Orleans Jeanne d'Arc or Joan of Arc to others battle against the shadows with great vigor until she saw something the sky.
Jeanne d'Arc became wide eyed as she saw being sent Minato flying into the sky. She knew that he needed help, so she turned her attention back to the battlefield to find the persona that can help him.
And she soon did as she saw the persona riding on a flame motorcycle riding across the battlefield attack the shadows with its metal chains.
"HELL BIKER!" She called to him.
The flamed biker looked towards the woman and saw what she wanted.
Seeing their leader knocked through the air, the biker drove right towards him.
Once he was close, the biker used him chain to grab hold of the blue haired warrior from the air and pull him towards himself.
Minato regained consciousness as the chains wrapped around him.
When he felt himself being pulled, he looks towards the source of the chain and gave a small smile at he saw the familiar dead biker.
He landed on the back seat of the bike of Hell Biker as the both of them drove away.
"Thank you, Hell Biker." I gave my gratitude in turn he merely nodded his head.
Minato soon saw his enemy Erebus has returned only this time, he had taken on the form of a grotesque dragon with four wings each one being as long as three pick-up trucks with three crooked horns sprouting from his head.
Minato began launching spells at the beast in an attempt to kill it.
With lightning spells Minato electrocuted the beast from the air but it only to serve to anger the beast.
Erebus tried to swipe at them, but Hell Biker swerve the bike out of the way.
Sheathing his sword Minato summoned a bow and began firing arrows of light at Erebus.
The arrows he fired exploded the moment they made contact with his body.
Erebus began shooting fireballs from his mouth to burn the two.
Fortunately for Minato, Hell Biker manage to dodge a great deal of them before Minato was able to focus on firing again.
Minato used a combination of arrows and lightning spells against the dragon dealing a great deal of damage to him but still the beast refuses to go down.
"Rrrrraaaawwwhhhhh!"
Minato heard the mighty roar Erebus gave.
"So you're not messing are you?" Minato said as Erebus came around again with his claws.
"Agilao!" Minato shouted as he fired a fire spell at Erebus before he could come close to them.
The fire spell blew Erebus back some distance, but he quickly closes the gap between them.
Erebus began releasing bolts of energy towards them, forcing Hell Biker to swivel around them again as they began to explode in the ground.
Minato put up a protective shield around them as to not take the full brunt of the attack.
Minato began to fire more lightning spells at Erebus.
Minato then fired another arrow aimed at his head.
Erebus finally having enough of the attacks began to fire more fireballs at them at an increasing rate.
Minato was forced to summon another protective barrier around them.
Once they manage to get by the fireballs, Minato saw that Erebus was coming around to try and swipe at them again.
"Agilao." Minato fired one more fireball at Erebus forcing him to back off. Erebus retaliated by firing a beam at them.
Hell Biker swerved around it avoiding the blast. But Minato soon saw that they were near the end of the beach.
"Hell Biker bail." Minato commanded the Persona.
Hell Biker got up from his seat and jumped off his bike and onto a nearby shadow to fight.
With the biker gone, Minato proceeded to steer the bike himself.
Using a destroyed piece of rubble cause from the fighting, Minato jump off the beach and into the city where he began to use the bike to jump off buildings towards the tower Tartarus.
Riding the bike up the support of a bridge near the tower, Minato prepare himself for battle again.
"Bring it." He said as Erebus fired a beam of energy at him but miss.
Erebus then summoned a magical circle in front of him, seeing the danger Minato jumped over the magical before it fired a beam of energy.
Minato then launched a tether to Erebus's back reeling himself towards it. Once he was on his back, Minato ran up it until he came near the head. Once he was near, Minato jumped into the air and transformed his sword into the legendary hammer Mjolnir and brought it down on Erebus's head.
Erebus cried out in pain from the strike before Minato rolled off the side and back onto Hell Bikers bike as it was still moving up the bridge support.
Erebus flew around the support making Minato lose sight of him.
"Where is he going?" Minato questioned as he continued riding up.
When he got near the top, Erebus appeared in front of him with sphere of condense energy ready to be fired.
Surprised Minato reacted on instinct and jumped off the bike and drew his evoker and aimed at him.
Both fired and resulted in a huge explosion.
Minato was blasted away by the explosion, but something caught him and took him to safety.
Minato awoke to find Messiah carrying him in his arms as they are encased in a protective spherical shield.
Messiah brought Minato to the top of the bridge and set him down gently.
"Thank you, Messiah." Minato said as Messiah gave a light bow to him before disappearing into light.
Minato saw Erebus float down onto the many outer structures of the tower as he has now return to his Knight form.
Even though Minato couldn't see his mouth, he could tell that Erebus was smirking.
Both warriors took their battle stances again ready to begin their duel.
"I prefer if we didn't waste anymore time." Erebus said as he threw a ball of energy at him.
Minato blocked the ball with his shield and aim his evoker at it.
"Garula." Minato said as he kept pulling the trigger on his evoker unleashing the same wind spell on the energy ball.
Minato did this so that the moment he deflected back to Erebus, the build of energy from the wind spell would shoot the energy ball back faster than when it was shot.
And his intentions came to fruition as when Minato deflected the ball, it sent Erebus flying through the towers inner structures until he came out the other side.
Erebus crashed into a wall on the other side, but before he could fully recover, he saw three fire balls flying towards him result in a huge explosion.
Minato saw the explosion from his position as well as the structure above crumble on top of him.
Erebus recovered from the explosion and saw the building pieces falling on him.
Erebus smirked at this.
"Fate has made a wise choice in choosing you Messiah, but it will be for naught." Erebus said. "Let the powers of destruction heed my command."
Erebus made the surrounding area come to a halt as the crumbling bridge pieces came to stop.
Minato saw that Erebus has basically stop time in their current surroundings as a circular dome of power covered it.
Jumping on the pieces of the crumbling bridge, the two met again.
"Are you keeping up boy?"
"You seek to destroy everything?" Minato asked him.
"You already know the answer boy. Destruction is the end of everything, my desire for destruction is the desire of countless masses that wish for it."
"But it is not my desire." Minato said as he and Erebus both jumped at each other.
Both of them clash swords in an attempt to overpower the other.
Minato broke the deadlock by kicking Erebus's side, Minato then began to slash at Erebus before hitting him with his shield.
The hit sent Erebus into hitting a building piece.
He quickly recovered and face Minato again.
"I believe now it is my turn." Erebus said as he jumps towards Minato to attack him.
"Come and receive death." Minato taunted him with a hand wave.
"We'll see about that!"
Minato jumped into the air and clashed again with Erebus, Minato dodge under one swing and flew under another. Minato then retaliated with swings of his own.
They clash in air before parrying each other with their sword they landed on another building piece.
Standing upside down on another piece of the bridge. The two began to release their own immense auras of power as each fighter prepared to unleash their own attack.
"It's over." Minato said. "We are done."
Just as Erebus was about to unleash his spell, Minato quickly cast his most powerful ice spell.
"Niflheim."
Erebus was soon encased in a giant block of ice just as he was about to release his own spell.
Being in the frozen state, Erebus's spell went off resulting in an explosion, but thanks to the ice the explosion was contained.
But despite the containment the explosion blew the ice away.
Dusting himself off Erebus spoke.
"You have my gratitude Messiah, for in these final moments I have never met a more worthy opponent than you."
Unknown to Erebus, Minato was standing on a floating building piece behind him. Minato then jumped towards him for an attack.
"It's over." He said.
Minato began to attack Erebus with a series of slashes and bashes. Minato made every second he had count as he slash Erebus multiple times before hitting him with his shield, slash at him again before bashing shield against his face before performing a spin kick to his head.
Erebus was sent towards the bottom of the bridge as the effects of his time stop spell has worn off and the bridge pieces fell on top of him.
Minato ran to safety, he jumped to another part of the bridge that wasn't destroyed and watch at the bridge pieces fell on Erebus.
But something happen that soon caught Minato's eyes.
"A portal?" Minato asked as he saw a portal open up from the top of Tartarus and out from the portal came a strangely dress young man.
Minato's eyes widen in realization. "Of course, the one from my dreams. I have heard your name before. Noel Kreiss."
Seeing the young man name Noel Kreiss, Minato immediately took action. Taking his evoker, he aimed it at his head and pulled the trigger right before jumping over the edge of the building he was on.
"PERSONA!" Minato shouted.
Bursting forth from the blue flames was a dragon of great size. Scales as dark as the midnight sky shone on it, eyes baring intense hatred and anger.
This was Nidhoggr the evil dragon of Norse mythology.
Minato latched onto Nidhoggr's back and the two flew to the falling man in the sky.
Unknown to the duo, Erebus came bursting from the rumble of the destroyed structure in his gargoyle form and gave chase to the two.
Minato and Nidhoggr flew around the tower to get to the man.
"Faster Nidhoggr." Minato said as Nidhoggr increase his speed in order to catch the man.
"What the…?" Noel Kreiss asked in surprise as he saw the two flying towards him.
"Grab my hand!" Minato called out to him.
The young man did grab my hand as we flew off into the distance.
"Where am I?" the young man named Noel Kreiss asked.
"The Sea of Souls." Minato answered him.
"You prayed for a miracle to happen and it brought you here, too a realm within the collective unconscious." He told him. "Is this not correct?"
"Uh yeah, but how did you know?"
"Here in the Sea of Souls, I can see everything. Every life, every action, every choice made through the souls of the living."
"Okay but who are you?"
Minato turn his head towards him.
"I go by many names, but one name will always be true to me is Minato Arisato, but just call me Minato."
"Okay."
The two flew back towards the tower but were soon followed by Erebus in his dragon form.
"That things coming back!" Noel shouted to Minato.
Minato stood up and readied his blade.
"It's time for a battle in the skies, are you ready Nidhoggr?" Minato asked the evil dragon.
"We will show this beast who the true masters the skies are." He said as he gave out a loud roar signaling Erebus to challenge him.
Erebus unleashed fire balls at them, but Nidhoggr skillfully dodge the incoming fire.
Minato returned fired by summoning lightning from the skies.
The attack made their mark of Erebus, but it wasn't enough to stop him.
Erebus fired small condense fireballs at them forcing Nidhoggr to perform evasive maneuvers.
Barrel rolling around them, Minato released more lightning bolts at him before switching to light spells.
Forming an array of light energy around him, Minato fire multiple orbs of light at Erebus.
Each orb of light detonated in a small explosion damaging Erebus.
The battle in the skies became intense as the skies were lit up with both fire and light.
Nidhoggr then flew around until they were behind Erebus.
Nidhoggr began to attack by breathing out his ice breathe at Erebus.
Minato help by sending out more light spells.
Erebus came to them with two orbs of dark energy in both of his hands.
"He's getting close!" Noel shouted.
When Erebus got close, he slammed both orbs into each other resulting in an explosion, but before he did Minato summon another protective shield around them.
Seeing his foes unharmed by his attack Erebus gave chase again.
"What happens now?" Noel asked.
"It will get worse." Minato said.
Minato began firing more lightning spells while Erebus began firing more fireballs.
Both sides competing to take the other down first.
Noel Kreiss wish he could do something, but he had no weapon or power capable to even hit Erebus especially in the sky.
They flew all around the city with Erebus firing his own missile like attacks and Nidhoggr dodging them while Minato fired both light and lightning spells.
Condensing energy in front of him, Erebus form another ball of power and shot it in front of them creating a huge explosion.
The three were force to take the full brunt of the explosive attack.
Minato knew he had to end this, so he released one more spell in hopes of ending the battle.
"Samsara."
Unleashing most powerful light spell in his arsenal, Minato fired it resulting in an explosion powerful enough to destroy one of Erebus's wings making the monster crash towards the sea.
With their foe gone, Minato knew that it was time to deal with other matters involving his new friend.
"Nidhoggr to the tower." Minato ordered in which he received a roar from the dragon.
(Tartarus, Minato P.O.V.)
When the three of us got close to Tartarus, Noel and I jumped off Nidhoggr and onto the top level of the tower where the giant sealed doors were.
The two of us gently landed on Tartarus and I dismiss my sword and shield making the them disappear.
"How do we fight this thing?" Noel asked me.
"You don't." I bluntly answered him.
"What?!" Noel asked, surprised by my answer.
"This isn't your battle to fight." I told him firmly. "This battle is mine and mine alone."
"But there is something I need you to do for me." I said to him.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Go to a place called Tatsumi Port Island and bring my friends to me along with my successors." I asked him. "When you get to the city find a girl named Aigis she will help you."
"What? Why?"
"Because they will need to be ready for the coming darkness that will consume the world." I said.
"Uh okay, but how will I know who this Aigis girl is? Or even who your successors are?"
I gave him a small smile.
"Don't worry once you find Aigis she will take you to my friends in doing so I have no doubt that they will take you to meet my successors."
I walked over to the other side of the tower, Noel followed my gaze as the two of us stared at a blue door. The door itself was unusual as it was entirely blue with a stone shape butterfly on top of it as it gave off a strange but pleasant feeling.
"You will need to take that door, it is a portal to Earth." I told him. "You should already know how it works. Your friend did explain it to you."
"That's the gate?" He asked as he did expect the gate to be something as mundane as a door.
"But why me? Why can't you go with me, it'll be a lot with the two of us."
When he asked me that, my expression turn to be gloomy.
"I can't. As much as I want to see my friends again, I can't." I said as I turn my attention towards the giant golden doors with various marks and symbols on them along with metal chains wrapped around them.
"My place is here. I am the guardian of the Seal, the one and only line of defense between the destruction of the world and Erebus." I said. "If I leave, everything I worked so hard to protect will be destroyed."
I turned back towards Noel.
"Fate chose you for a reason Noel Kreiss, you who has cross the void and made your way into the collective unconscious, you can find my friends and my successors and together, all of you can change the future."
"Change the future…" He said under his breath. "Can we really change the future?" He asked me.
I sense his uncertainty of the matter, but I reassured him.
"Yes you can."
I held out my hand and form it a light glowed forming a small wooden box. The box was open and the inside of it was completely empty.
But then small balls of light appeared around us. Noel was surprised by the lights as he kept darting around himself at all of them, but I remained unfazed.
From the balls of light that appeared around us, each one took form of a weapon.
There was a vast array of weapons surrounding us. Weapons ranging from bows and arrows, swords, blunt weapons, spears, staffs, whips, knives, iron plated gloves, lances, shields, claws, guns, small artilleries, and so on.
Each weapon had a unique design as each one was crafted by the hands of master craftsmen's to be of the highest caliber.
Soon all the weapons turned back into balls of light and went into the box closing it shut.
I gave the box to Noel as he looked at it curiously before looking at me.
"They are good luck charms for my friends and successors." I told him in which he nodded.
"Alright then, don't you worry I'll track your friends down." He said to be a bit smugly.
Out moment was soon ruined by the sound of an explosion.
"What was that?!" Noel asked worryingly.
The two of us turned our attention to the distance as something arose from the sea.
There out in the distance came a monster of gigantic size, both sides of its body came massive heads covered with a bone white mask with horns sprouting out from them along with four pronged legs.
This was Erebus true form, the form that has tried to destroy the Seal and me along with it.
"Go now Noel Kreiss." I said to him. "The future depends on what you do now."
"Don't worry you can count on me." Noel said smiling as he went and walked through the blue door.
Once Noel Kreiss entered the door, it soon shut itself as I was left to face my long time enemy once more in mortal combat.
"I know you're here Elizabeth." I said as I turned and saw the same woman in blue I've known for a long time.
Dress in a blue uniform belonging to an elevator attendant, bearing silver hair and gold colored eyes was my friend Elizabeth.
Elizabeth walked towards me and put her hand on my face as she stared into my eyes and I stared into hers.
I have known Elizabeth for a long time, I have known her to be the girl whose beauty was unknown to the world, whose strength rivaled that of gods of war, whose knowledge of the world was limited to that of children but full of great wonder at everything around her.
But also…I have known her to be the girl whose heart I have stolen.
It was never my intention to steal her heart, I only saw her as a girl who wanted my company in all of her visits from the Velvet Room.
I only came to enjoy her company as she did mines, unknowingly sowing the seeds of love within her from the times we spent together.
An immortal being of great power falling in love with a mortal being of lesser power. You only hear such things in fairy tales.
I guess my one-year journey was one such fairy tale.
When I looked into her eyes, I saw the one thing I thought I would never see in Elizabeth.
Sadness.
Elizabeth, the girl who would always be cheering, smiling, curious, and naïve…was sad.
Seeing Elizabeth sad is a foreign experience for me but one I accepted, nonetheless.
The reason for her sadness is one I already know.
"I can't stand to see you like this anymore." She said as her eyes began to water. "This should never have been your burden, this should never have been your fate."
"I know, but this is a burden I chose to bare." I said calmly to her.
"I know."
Elizabeth put both her hands on my head and pulled me into a warm kiss.
I didn't reject it, Elizabeth would take any chance to show her affection for me and I more or less have gotten use to them.
I have never truly known love, what love exist in me are those of my parents but even they are mere fragments.
But it seems that have always received love, not just from Elizabeth, but from also my friends.
Strangers at first, companions the next to comrades in arms, to family I never thought I would have again.
A family that gave me love I never thought as I gave them light that they could find.
I warmed my heart to know that in all my battles that I was surrounded by people that cared about me, people that loved me.
I only wish that I could give that same love to others, but maybe with Elizabeth I might learn how to…if possible.
The two of us soon broke our kiss as I turn to face Erebus once more.
"I wish I can do more." She said sadly.
"I know." I said without looking at her. "But you have done more than enough for me."
I jumped off the tower and free fall.
Taking out my evoker I aimed at my head and pulled the trigger.
"PERSONA!"I shouted as three of my most powerful personas took form.
Thanatos, Orpheus Telos, and Messiah were the ones that came forth for me.
Messiah grabbed me and the four of us charged towards Erebus.
As we neared, I saw Erebus summon multiple magical circles and I knew what that meant.
Out from the circles came vast amounts of meteors that shot out into the Sea of Souls destroying everything along with lasered shots that were directed at us.
But the most alarming thing of all was when Erebus opened his mouth to unleash his powerful attack.
"Not this again." I muttered in annoyance, I needed to hurry and finish this.
I looked towards Messiah as he had his gaze upon me, he knew what I would ask of him next.
"Do it." I told him, and Messiah then threw me into the air before grabbing my extended arm to sling shot me all the way towards Erebus as he fired a powerful beam of energy towards me.
Summoning my shield along with my sword I blocked the beam as it split around me, using every ounce of my power I push through the beam with undaunting resolve.
"Everyone." I whispered as the thoughts of everyone I cared came to my mind once more as I kept charging head forth into the Erebus attack with my blade glowing with intense power.
As I neared Erebus, I gave one final swing to end it all.
Out in the distance, Elizabeth watch as her love fought his again in an epic conclusion.
With his final attack, Elizabeth saw the huge explosion that took place as light enveloped them.
She gave no words of comfort, only letting a small tear go down her beautiful face.
She then slowly turned around and walked through the blue door as well leaving all of Minato's hopes into the hands of one man.

Hey everyone this is Nicdragon8 coming at you with a One-Shot.
This little snippet I made is not a full-blown story, I don't plan to make this whole thing a story this is just a one shot.
I never played Final Fantasy 13-2 so I don't know how to add the concepts of that game into this.
I mostly wrote this as a way to incite a challenge to some readers to see if they are willing to take part in making a PersonaXFinal Fantasy 13-2 Crossover.
Only with P3 having a lot of Final Fantasy elements like the how Minato took Lightnings place in Valhalla and that the enemy is Erebus instead of Caius.
I mean Minato's situation can be related to Lightning's making the this whole set up perfect.
As for successors I'm talking about P4 and P5 protagonist that was kind of self-explanatory on my part.
Also writing this was a huge pain, this is all just prologue and it required this much work from me.
I had to re-watch this prologue online multiple times just to add in a specific combat scene.
So if anyone wants to take up this challenge go ahead I dare ya.
Also I would really appreciate it if someone was willing to make a little side story where the Shadow Operatives, Investigation Team, and Phantom Thieves watched this fight in like a magical movie theater.
I don't plan to do it because I don't everyone's personality that well to make them stay in character.
