Well, since this is my first REAL attempt at a story, reviews would be much appreciated!
Percy woke up abruptly to the knocks on his door. He groaned and turned to see his alarm clock. 3:28. Who was outside his room this early?
He rolled out of bed onto the soft carpet of his room in the apartment he and his mom now lived in with Paul. It wasn't until he opened the door and saw who was behind it that he realized he was only in his boxers, but by then he didn't care.
"Annabeth?" She quickly wrapped her arms around his neck so he couldn't see the tears streaming down her face. He grabbed her around the waist with one arm, using the other to tilt her chin towards him. "What happened? Why are you here? How did you get in?" he asked.
Her chin quivered as she murmured, "I left. Dad's wife started treating me like a freak again but he didn't even notice. I couldn't stand it anymore…so I left."
"Oh gods…I'm so sorry…" he said, now better understanding the situation. He pulled her closer and lightly kissed her lips. He gently pushed back her bedraggled blonde hair. "You'll be okay," he whispered in her ear.
He motioned to his bed. "Go ahead and get some sleep. We'll figure out what to do in the morning." She nodded slowly and slipped under the blue sheets.
Percy grabbed an extra blanket and tried to sleep on the couch. He quickly found that he couldn't. His mind too distracted by the girl he loved.
