War on Remnant (Xcom 2RWBY Crossover Challenge)

The people of Remnant have fought the Grimm since the beginning, and barely manage to thrive. So what would happen if the suddenly find out that they are not alone in the universe? And that some of these visitors don't come in peace?

Hey guys, D Wyrm here! Here to bring for a new challenge for eager readers! I know my last few ideas haven't met much a pro value from my fellow readers/writers, but consider this a fresh approach. Just so you know, I own nothing! But even if I did, I wouldn't change anything! (Apart from the outcome of RWBY Volume 3. "sniff") Anyway, onto the rules:

Centre your story around the Xcom 2 timeline/storyline.

Choose whether the it should based on Earth, Remnant or both (find a way to make it work)

Decide on using main RWBY characters or RWBY OC's as the main characters (Xcom 2 in-game soldiers are more or less OC's, I guess)

Choose how AU the RWBY universe would be with either Xcom or ADVENT involved.

If you want to, try to add the Xcom 2 DLC in the mix, for a little flavour. (Shen's Last Gift, Alien Hunters, War of the Chosen, etc.)

Decide whether the main RWBY characters change in personality within the AU or stay the same.

Add your own Xcom 2 soldiers to your story.

Choose how Xcom interacts with the people of Remnant.

If you want, add some character death (whether Xcom or Remnant)

I highly encourage Cinder bashing! ;) (you know she deserves it!) (Maybe cut Neo some slack. She maybe a criminal, but she's just so cute!)
