What is America? You may say it's A "Free country", a "Democracy", or even a "Melting pot". No no no... America is an ideal. But, America as it is, is a mere shadow of America, a mockery even! We as a nation, do not like to comment on our own hypocrisy, nor on our arrogance, and our conceited and self absorbed nature.
America was, at one point, the ideal that all men would be free, if they are American. That we all of us, are equal in the eyes of our so called "God". When we acquired/captured; our slaves, we thought them no better than the dogs and deer we hunted; fit only for servitude.
We called all natives we came across "Savages", whilst we killed them and removed their scalps for trophies. Were we not savages then? Did we not burn villages? Not kill women and children? Did our own President: Andrew Jackson, not move the natives onto reservations with a startling similarity to the Jewish death marches. Did we not condemn Adolf Hitler? Germany? Why not Andrew Jackson? Why not America?
In a stunningly similar fashion to the Jewish and Indian relocations, the Japanese population was forced into internment camps. They had to sell, pack, and move all of their possessions and sell their homes. The men and women moved there were moved on the preemptive suspicion of being WWII spies. Where then, were their "unalienable rights"?
We may preach peace, but we enable war.
A/N: Sorry, I had a lot of things happening, but now I'm back to writing.
