Believe
Tears slipped from her crystal blue eyes as she watched the redhead walk off. She tried to call out to but she'd already gone.
For Naminé, everything was a bit of a blur. She could remember arguing, but for the life of her, she couldn't remember why. She remembered saying words she didn't mean, but she didn't realise the consequences. She didn't realise that the redhead would leave. The girl she loved so much had walked out that door with anger and hurt written plainly on her face. Her eyes holding tears, threatening to overflow.
For Kairi, everything was as clear as day. She remembered what they were fighting about. It was such a small reason, but it escalated into such a heated fight. She could remember every hurtful thing that her blonde girlfriend had said. She wished she hadn't left, but she couldn't stay. Not when the blonde girl was so upset like that.
Naminé had tried calling. She really had, but Kairi hadn't answered. As the blonde brought the phone closer to her ear, she tried thinking of some way to tell Kairi that she was wrong. She tried to think how to say about how empty she was since the other had left. The answerphone picked up the call. By then, Naminé had thought of something to say.
"You've reached Kairi's voicemail. Please leave a message after the beep. *BEEP*"
"If you believed when I said I'd be better off without you, then you never really knew me at all. You're all that I need, just tell me that you still believe." Pressing the red button, Naminé leaned back against the wall.
Naminé knew that she couldn't undo the words she said. She couldn't undo the mistakes she made. But she believed that there was something more to them than that. There was so much more that the two had yet to do. Their first anniversary was coming up in a few weeks. During that fight, Naminé had been so blind to everything. The two girls generally agreed on everything and when they didn't, it usually ends with fights like that. Neither girl had ever left their shared apartment before though.
"If you believed when I said that I wouldn't be thinking about you, you thought you knew the truth but you're wrong. You're all that I need, just tell me that you still believe." Kairi pressed the end call button just as Naminé's voice stopped. Soft, but noticeable, footsteps could be heard running behind her. Kairi slowly craned her neck so that she could see behind her. In the distance she could see a faint silhouette running towards her. Turning around, facing the way she'd come, she could see the outline of her blonde haired girlfriend running to her.
Kairi noticed the tear stains on her cheeks, similar to her own. As the girl drew closer, Kairi opened her arms. Without warning, Naminé ran straight into those loving arms, her own arms circling the others waist.
"'Cause you're all that I want, don't you even know me at all." Naminé said.
Kairi smiled down at her. "You're all that I need, just tell me that you still believe."
A/N So, what do you think? This is the first FanFic that I've posted but it's not the first one I've written. I haven't written this pairing very much. But hey ho!
EDIT (9/11/12): There's now a poll on my profile! It's so you can choose which story I should post next. If you've got the time, I'd really appreciate you voting! Thanks a lot!
