Batman and Robin had been fighting Two-Face in the subways for a while now. He had set bombs to destroy the support columns, collapsing the entire subway. The time ran out and they exploded. The caped crusaders ran to get out, but rubble fell on Batman. He was taken to the hospital and put in the ICU. The doctors said he may not make it. Robin ran out of the hospital and jumped on his motorcycle that he technically wasn't old enough to have, driving as fast as it would go until he crashed. He got up, his knees, elbows, and head bleeding, and ran until he came to a brick building. Robin punched the brick wall until his gloves were torn and then kept punching. Batman couldn't die, he just couldn't. The doctors must be lying. They don't know Batman, not the way Robin knows him. His knuckles got all bloody, but he didn't care. Robin's wrist broke and he screamed. He fell to his knees and pulled out his version of a batarang and threw it as hard as he could at a nearby trash can, pretending it was Two-Face. Batman might die because of him. Robin wanted to return the favor, but he knew he couldn't. They didn't kill, no matter how much they wanted to. He got up and started punching the wall again despite the pain, tears falling from behind his mask.

Kid Flash showed up and grabbed him, pulling him away from the wall, and told him, "Stop it Robin! Everything's going to be okay."

"It will never be okay!" Robin cried, "He's probably dead!"

"Robin." A hoarse voice said his name.

Robin looked. It was Batman. He was battered and bruised and his voice was weaker. But, he was still alive. He was still Batman.

Robin ran over to him and hugged him, sobbing into his chest, "Batman! I thought I lost you! I'd die without you!"

Batman held the shaking boy, "I know. It's okay Robin. I'm here. I'll never leave you." He noticed the blood, "You're hurt."

"Who cares?" You're not dead!" Robin screamed when he touched his wrist,

"I care." Batman answered while wrapping up his broken wrist, "You're just as important to me as I am to you."

"I love you Batman." Robin hugged him tighter.

Batman did the same, "I love you too Robin."
