this was rachels big moment and she knew it. she had been waiting all of her life for this opporunitiy and it had finally arrived. all of her primping and preping for years would finally be worth it. after all of her years of being labeled a freak, she would get her moment in the sun.
she had known the song she was going to sing for years. knew every word of the song by heart, she could sing it frontwards and backwards if she had to. this was it, her moment to shine she would finally become a star. after seeing kurt nail his audition, she knew everything was going to come up roses for her. for once in her life she finally belong and all her dreams would come true.
she stepped onto the stage full of confidence. she began to belt out the song perfectly. then all of the sudden the words left her entirely her brain went completely blank. she could feel vomit raising in her throat. she felt like she was dying. she couldn't believe she was choking. all her dreams came crashing down to the ground around her. she began to panic, all she could think of was to ask for a do over. when all she really wanted to do was find some cliff and fling herself over the edge.
she began to belt out the song again.
"Don't tell me not to live just sit and putter,
life's candy and the suns a…. "
a loud bang rang throughout the auitorium.
rachel couldn't understand where the loud noise had come from. she heard kurt, blaine, finn, and Mr Shue scream in terror, all of a sudden rachel felt a sharp pain in her chest. everthing seemed to be moving in slow motion around her. she moved one of her hands down to where the sharp pain was coming from. when she pulled it back, she could see a dark red sticky substance covering her hand. she could also smell the scent of copper. everthing began to go dark around her. at first she could hear voices screaming in the background. then everything went away, the pain, the voices, everything.
She finally felt at peace. Kurt couldn't believe that he had just witnessed Carmen tibado pull out a small handgun from her purse and shoot Rachel. Kurt saw the life fade from Rachel's eyes. She was now lying on the stage with her eyes still opened with a look of confusion upon them. He could tell though, there was no longer any life left in her.
" God , I am so fucking tired of hearing that God damn awful song!" Carmen Tibado says wickedly. She then puts the handgun back in her purse and exits the auditorium without saying another word.
