A/N: OK, better story now. The Chronicles of Chaos was a bit of a bust, to be fair . This story is based post Sonic X, of course as suggested by the title. It will focus on Sonic and Tails' friendship. I will paint Tails in a slightly different light but will stay true to his character . Over and out!
Prologue: Fragments
SONIC'S POV
Lights …
I wake up to them. They are blinding me as I am rushed into hospital. Doctors muttering illegible words blurring into the background as I slip in and out of consciousness. Random memories, past and present keep hitting me like a shard of glass, I see Amy screaming to get at me, Knuckles trying to hold me back, The tornado on fire…,Cream looking around with a haunted look so unsuitable for the cheerful rabbit I got to know, as if she was looking for something, someone. Tails? I try to scream out for him but somehow my mouth fails me. "Where is tails?" I shout to a puzzled orderly. She merely shouts for a Doctor and he runs in. He mutters something I replied "In fucking agony doc where is Tails"? He gives me a confused . They probably use his "real" name here. "Where is Miles Prower?." The doctor went out to get him. Thank god. Instead Amy and Knuckles (okay?) has come in to talk to me. Amy sits down and takes my hand and Knux looks out the window, avoiding my gaze.(What was the point of him coming if he was going to be like that?) The look in Amy's eyes was a mixture of great despair and relief. I suddenly know what has happened in that instance . I felt numb inside then suddenly this enormous pain shot through my heart and was suddenly very angry. Then next thing I knew I saw Amy crying as Knuckles and several doctors drag me to the psych ward and then saw the shattered glass of the hospital windows. Its fragments all over the floor and just like those fragments, a partial memory came to me.
Tails and I were on the Tornado but we weren't going after Eggman. He was angry with me; I mean I saw a horrific fury in his eyes and his distorted, almost snarling features. "Why did you sneak on the plane, Sonic? You cannot possibly believe that you can beg for forgiveness that easy, HELL NO! What you did was unforgivable. I have never been so betrayed." I plead with him. "Tails please don't go. I have never been so sorry in my life." "Liar!" Tails screams callously. "Please we are brothers, forever bonded." "Brothers!" He screamed. "That certainly doesn't describe us that's for sure. Brothers wouldn't do what you did! And nearly everyone knew about it, Amy, Knuckles and the Thorndykes! Bet you all thought it was so funny too. Stringing me along for so long. That's as sick as it gets! I hate you. Sonic the Hedgehog . I wish you were dead -" Next thing I knew the plane was on fire and the fragments were gone…
