The Song of Ice and Fire

17-year-old Cloud was born from a cloud. Not just any cloud, but an ice cloud. That means that she can control ice, and sometimes water if it's cold enough. She is a Royal in the Cloud kingdom. She and two other Royals are not permitted to travel to the other kingdoms, because if you touch a Royal from another kingdom, a natural disaster occurs. Read the Intro for more information.

Intro

I was born in a cloud. My parents are clouds. But I am human. I was given the name Cloud, because of this.

I live in a world called Cåptem. Pronounced Caaa(long a)ptehm. It's far too complex for you to understand.

There are twelve of my kind. The kind not born to humans. They are born to dirt, water, wind, or a cloud. There are three in each kingdom. The kingdoms are Earth (Dirt), Sea, Air, and Cloud.

My hair is so blonde it is almost white. I have blemish-free fair skin, with the exception of a cloud-shaped birthmark on my foot. "Cloud," they said, while trying to name me. "She looks like a cloud."

I am one of the three Royals in the Cloud Kingdom. The other two are Reina and Flake.

I was not just born from any cloud. It was an ice cloud, the rarest kind. I can control ice. Reina was born in a rain cloud. Flake, in a snow cloud.

We are forbidden to leave our kingdom without permission. Not just the Cloud Royals, but the Sea, Earth, and Air Royals too. If I were to touch a Royal from a different kingdom, a disaster would occur. Last time, a flaming ball of fire devoured a thousand villages. And that was only when it was a slight brush of the arm.

Occasionally, Reina, Flake, and I will visit other kingdoms. But we must be so careful. The penalty for causing a disaster is, well, obviously, death.

Once a Royal reaches the age of 25 and is still lucky enough to be alive, they are replaced. Not one replaced Royal has been heard from again. I have seven more years. I know that they will go by quickly.
