I wrap my fingers tightly against my glass, and throw it back to my lips. I exhale a sigh as the drink burns down my throat like liquid fire. Throwing down the money for the four shots I exit the bar as the warmth in my chest spreads with the buzz. I appreciate the silence of the deserted roads normally crowded and loud with the villagers, I breathe in the crisp cool night air appreciatively and start off at a slow meandering pace down the road. I am in no hurry tonight. Tonight it is just me, my thoughts, and the choice. I head towards the second tallest building, scuffing the toe of my sandal in the dirt. It turns my white ninja sandals brown and scuffs the toes, but for once, I just don't care. I glance up and see that the shadow of my apartment building looms ahead. Not even pausing to think about it I walk up the side of the building with my hands still in my pockets. My slow shuffle continued until I reached the roof, and plopped down to sit on the edge. I reached into my kunai holster on my thigh and pulled out a cinnamon stick, which I then preceded to chew on. I watched as the end of it started to bob up and down slightly. Some people smoked, some people played with senbon needles, I chew on cinnamon sticks. It calms me, helps me think clearer, and helps me get out my nervous energy. Tonight of all nights, I needed cinnamon. I have till dawn to make the biggest decision I've ever been faced with, and the one that has the biggest re-percussions. My decision right now could change everything. I lay down and cross my arms behind my head for a pillow. I stare up to the moon and stars wishing that they could give me guidance as I go over my two choices. Unable to help it I think back to before I even knew a choice like this could even be possible. My mind drifted, I just wanted to remember easier times. Sighing heavily I glance across the vast sky before settling my eyes on the moon as I let my thoughts wash over me. I let my memories of the past come up, and I submerse myself within them.
