It was a stormy day at Kadic and most students were either hiding out in their rooms, or they were braving the weather to go to the rec room. The Lyoko Warriors were among those few. There were a few students sitting around on couches and playing foosball but the five warriors were sitting around in a corner, staring at screens.
"Odd, check this video out!" Aelita pulled her friend closer to her and offered an earbud. She proceeded to show him a video of someone ranting about techno music. "The nerve of this person!" Aelita steamed when it was over.
"I avoid those channels, those people are always the ones who just want to start drama or they like to hear themselves talk," Odd told her and went back to his own rented laptop. He scrolled through his Tumblr dashboard and came upon a photo that he had to reblog and queue for later.
"Thanks Ulrich, I knew I wasn't the only one who thought so," Yumi said suddenly, looking up and smiling.
"Better hope Hiroki doesn't see that though, you know he'd hold it against you," Ulrich advised her.
"Aelita, did you see this article on Reddit? It's really interesting," Jeremie piped up. "It's about a study of exploration of growth in lab rats."
"That actually sounds super boring, Einstein. Why not check out these paintings, they are neat, aren't they?" Odd held up his screen so Jeremie could see as Aelita took Jeremie's phone to read the article he'd mentioned.
"That's nice Odd, but I think I should actually get back to work… I've been on Reddit all morning reading."
"What a lie," Aelita announced and showed Odd Jeremie's computer. "He read three articles, and spent the rest of his time looking up science jokes and memes."
"Jeremie, you slacker," Yumi laughed.
"Do the memes have to be science? Because someone just posted a twit pic of a great ninja meme," Ulrich offered.
"You guys are terrible," Emily walked over and stated. "You are all glued to your phones and computers. Go do something more productive, hmm?"
"It's raining, there's nothing else to do," Odd pointed out. "And besides, Tumblr and Youtube is productive, I have a lot of my work on these sites."
"Same here," Aelita chimed in. "Emily, these websites are fun but they are pretty helpful too."
"Hey guys," William cut in. "I knew I'd find you guys in here. Hey, Jeremie do you think you could look at my phone? The Internet is down and I can't get on Facebook to check my messages."
"Sure, William, I can try to help. Did you try resetting the internet connection? Sometimes you just need to restart the connection to make it stronger. The storm could be knocking it out too."
Jeremie's laptop beeped just then. "Actually, William, I just remembered we need to go take care of something! Try resetting the connection, if that doesn't help, ask Herve!"
The five of them left the rec room, leaving William and Emily standing there, confused.
