Damon was shattering down to pieces. Anna smirked bitterly.

He glared at her.
« Clementina is alive », she carried on.
The utter desperation gave way to the most puzzled surprise.
« How ?
-She was turned shortly after you were. »
Damon understood something Anna was not saying.
« How long have you known ?
-Quite some time, she answered.
-And you never said...
-You never asked. »
The shocking news didn't seem to wear off.
« How is she ?
-Fine, I guess. But you could go see for yourself. »
Damon smiled lightly– a very first for that evening.
« She was such fun as a child, even as a teen. And sweet, with a wicked sense of humour.
-Hum...She kinda turned into you in that respect, Damon.
-Ironic and cynical ?
-Hard. Life's not been pretty easy for her. By the way, Damon. She has a question for you. Did Stefan realize what he made her lose when he killed your father ? »
All of a sudden, Damon was not anymore the heartless joker he used to look like, care and concern in his eyes.
« I guess we'll have to pay her a visit.
-Yes, I guess she hoped so. »
Anna handed him a note.
« That's her adress. Don't get lost on the way. »
With one single glance, Damon realized where Clementina had chosen to settle down. Life was decidedly full of surprises.
