Rock Beats Paper?

" Hey, Sammy, can you go get some burgers from the diner down the street?" Dean asked, cleaning one of his guns. Sam peeked out one of the windows, making a face.

" Do you see the rain out there?" Sam asked giving his brother one of his famous bitchy face's. " I'm not going out in that."

Dean placed the gun down on the table. " But I'm hungry now. I'll rock-paper-scissors you for it."

Sam sighed, " Dean, if we do that, it means you're going because you always choose scissors."

Dean rolled his eyes, " Yeah, well, you could mess up and choose paper."

" I highly doubt that."

Dean stood, holding out his fist. Sam smirked and held out his.

" Rock-paper-scissors." They both said in unison.

" Damn it." Dean growled as Sam smiled. Dean had chosen scissors as Sam chose rock. " Best out of three?"

Sam shook his head, " nope."

" I don't understand."

The two brothers turned their heads towards the angel- who was sitting in a chair, looking confused. How long had Castiel been sitting there?

" You don't understand what?" Sam asked.

Castiel looked at them, tilting his head. " Rock-paper-scissors."

Dean smirked, " Oh, it's simple, Cas, Paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper."

" I find that I don't really need to use paper. Well, at least when Dean and I play." Sam muttered, smiling to himself.

Castiel still looked confused, " Wouldn't rock beat paper?"

Dean shook his head.

" But, couldn't rock be placed on top of paper, therefore leaving paper immobile?" Castiel said, looking even more confused.

Sam looked at Dean. " He kinda has a point."

Dean rolled his eyes, " but, paper covers rock."

" And what does that accomplish? It seems like the paper would try and blind rock. But rocks don't have eyes." Castiel deadpanned.

" They don't. But, paper is keeping rock from moving." Dean said, a proud expression crossed his face. Sam gave his brother the are-you-kidding? look.

" Rock could roll on top of paper, leaving it powerless." Sam said, raising his eyebrow.

Dean shook his head. " The rules of the game say that paper beats rock."

" So, if paper can wrap around rock and have defeated it, then why can't it do that for scissors?" Castiel asked, Sam looked at Dean.

" Because scissors can cut through paper." Dean stated.

Castiel nodded, " that makes sense. So why can't scissors cut up paper and free rock?"

Dean seemed to grow annoyed, " Well, if three people where playing, then maybe."

" What about scissors? With enough force, scissors could brake rock."

Sam patted Dean on the shoulder. " I'll go get the burgers."

And so, Dean and Castiel got into a discussion about rock-paper-scissors. Sam opened the door, standing before the pounding rain.

The last thing he heard before he closed the Motel door was Castiel muttering to Dean that they might need to rethink the rules of the game.
