The trees rustled as a soft breeze danced through the leaves. Lying upon the soft grass wet from the dew of last night's shower was a little girl picking dandelions ,darkish brown eyes scanning the enclosed clearing they were in.
Trying to pick up any signs of life she spotted something. Movement out of the corner of her eye ,she turned from her kneeling position.
It was her brother.
America.
She bounded over towards the boy, her long black hair lightly billowing out in contrast to her white gown which lay clad against brown skin ,a red ribbon tied firmly around her neck. A caucasian ,blue-eyed blond ,a stubborn cowlick stick out of his hair, dressed in similar attire stood waiting ,smiling as he saw his sister approach with her arms full.
It was the Bahamas.
While presenting her gift the Bahamas cried excitedly.
"Look brother I brought these for you!"
Plucking the delicate bundle from her arms leaving two in his stead, America shivered at the cold wind touching his skin, turning his head he noticed their positioned shadows.
"We have to go back soon, besides it's getting dark."
He stared at her, crystal blue eyes meeting darkish brown.
"Please. She begged just a little while longer." Her voice quivered, forcing her brother to sigh before nodding in approval. A smile lit up her face before she placed a hand in his, intertwining them, his grip tightening as they settled on the small bump resting almost at the edge of the clearing that passed as a hill. Seated comfortably the Bahamas leaned her head against the crook of America's neck, her brother's head resting on top of her's. Their figures against the colourful backdrop of the evening sky of orange, yellow, and pink with a light violet hinting the approach of night, clouds sporting a pinkish hue resting in the sky.
Watching the sun set upon the horizon they sat silently gazing up at the sky.
In the peace and quiet.
