I didn't notice the sake cup overflow and spill onto the table. The liquid spread all over the wooden table and trickled over the edge.

I did notice Genrou's amused expression, though he didn't pull his hand away from the cup.

"What did you say?" I whispered.

He took the sake bottle from me, set it gingerly on the sopping tabletop, and took my hand.

"I said that I love you, Kouji." And with that, he raised my hand to his mouth and grazed his lips against my wrist.

I decided there was no point in crying over spilt sake.
