"HOKAGE-SAMA! WAIT! YOU STILL HAVE TO-"
"GAH! SHUT UP!" the blonde screamed back.
He leaped through the air, landing on top of houses and stores, and jumping back into the air again.
"There's no way I'm going back there!" he groaned as he gently landed on the roof of a flower shop. "Why does the hokage have so much paperwork!? It's too much for me!"
He flew into the air and landed on the pavement. Quickly making sure that no one was following him, he sprinted towards the Hokage Mountain.
Panting, he finally reached it. Summoning most of his strength, he leapt up onto the stairs and quickly sat down on the head of his own stone face, trying to catch his breath.
"Whew…now, time for me to-"
"SHANNARO!" a voice boomed out.
A split second later a huge explosion occurred.
Chunks of rocks and rubble flung up into the air, sprinkling the trembling hokage. His eyes grew wide open as a massive crater was right in front of him, making the top of his stone head look like an active volcano.
"A-ah…." He squeaked.
"Naruto." A dangerous voice whispered from the dusty air.
There was no mistaking it. That voice and that brute strength belonged to the one and only Sakura Haruno. The head medic, the strongest kunochi, and of course, the most beautiful girl Naruto knows.
"S-Sakura-chan!" he said, his voice wavering. "W-what brings you here?"
"Naruto," she snapped, walking towards him, the dust dancing around her. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be working not fooling around. Everyone is looking for you." She said harshly.
"Ah, w-well you see, Sakura-chan," he smiled nervously. "I um needed a break and well, I thought that-"
"Naruto!" she raised her voice. "You've had enough breaks for one hour." She hissed.
"B-but-"
"No buts." She said.
"But-"
"Naruto."
The blonde smiled a cheesy smile.
"Sakura-chaaaan, pleaseeeee?" he begged. "Can I pleaseeeee rest only for five minutes?"
The pinkette placed her hands on her hips as she drilled her emerald green eyes into her comrade's sky blue ones before giving in.
"Fine." She sighed. "But only for five minutes." She warned.
He nodded quickly, holding onto his wide grin.
"Of course, Sakura-chan!"
He crossed his legs and scooted over to the right, motioning her to sit next to him. Rolling her eyes, the pinkette walked over to him and quietly slumped down. The sun was just beginning to set and its golden rays stretched out, wrapping itself over the peaceful village. The gentle breeze softly picked up the pink locks of the medic and the warm light of the sun create a small gleam in her eyes. She gazed down at the village, watching the people, the shinobi, and the children laugh and smile; run and jump around…
It made her happy. It made her realize that Naruto must really be doing something to maintain this peace. He might not always be fooling around, taking breaks every five minutes, going out to eat ramen when he should be working, and trying to ditch meetings…
She smiled to herself as the face of his stupid smile flashed through her head. In the corner of her eye she could see the blonde hokage quietly watch his village with a peaceful expression.
"Naruto," she broke the silence.
"H-huh?" he jerked up from his daze. "Ah, yeah, five minutes." He mumbled, getting up.
"No…it's not that." The medic said softly.
The hokage stared at her, confused.
"I…I was just wondering…" the medic hid her face from the blonde's view. "If…if I could…well..."
"Yes?" Naruto urged her on.
"If I could help you with your work." She whispered.
"Ha? Why?"
"Is there a problem?" she snapped.
"Ah! No! Of course not!" he laughed.
As a matter of fact, his heart was beating rather rapidly when those words left her lips.
"Yeah, I would like that." He smiled warmly at her. "Since you're really smart and all. I think you will help the village a lot!"
"Oh…thanks, Naruto." She said, a soft expression crawled up on her face as she watched the goofball go on about how he plans to increase the security around the village since he heard rumors about rogue ninjas snooping around at night.
As she listened and stared into his eyes, her smile grew a bit wider. She pushed back a strand of hair behind her ear and continued to listen. His smile was amazingly comforting and his eyes were crystal clear. The way he said anything that came to mind made the medic giggle a few times, the way he tried to crack a joke made her roll her eyes, but her smile was still glued on his face. The way he tried to flirt with her was not exactly working, but she still played along, laughing as he turned beet red whenever she leaned a bit too close to him. He was an amazing person. He was her sunshine, and she knew that. After all, a flower cannot bloom without the rays of the sun, and he helped her bloom to the fullest.
