Four Times a Year!
At St. Luc's Abbey the monks bathe four times a year this is very unclean but would be considered extremely clean in the medieval days. During this time, most people didn't even have a bath all their life. Average people today have a bath at least once every week. The medieval days where extremely unclean and that caused a lot of disease and sickness like the Black Death or Black Plague for instance. Today we know that having a bath at least once a week is a good way to keep clean and not dirty. This prevents some sickness and disease from spreading.
