This is a series of German words I will base my story on, and whether or not I decide to continue with this, I just felt guilty for not writing anything for for the past months.
Prompt 1: Sein Wort Halten
Princess Tutu owned by Ikuko Itoh
Sein Wort Halten
To keep one's word.
How long ago, it seemed. Fakir hid behind smiles now, instead of the shield of hate he'd worn so often. He knew that, even if his heart had hardened and his joy had shattered, that he shouldn't pass his pain on to others. That was selfish, and cold, and-
Not what she would have done.
At age twenty-eight, Fakir was an accomplished writer, and well-known in the town of Kinkan. At times, he would look back and remember the fantastical things that he'd lived his life knowing, that vanished in an eye's blink and replaced with normality.
How mundane. How strange. Fakir wondered how he could cope.
At times, he would look back and remember that girl, that duck. She with the beautiful blue eyes. She with the open smile, the no-holds-barred expressions, the honest and lively one.
She who is gone.
Fakir used to wonder whether he had just lived in a dream. He used to wonder if that duck he came down to the lake to visit everyday really DID know what he said, really did understand what stories he spun. He would feel guilty for doubting Ahiru, but in the long shot, he didn't know what to believe anymore.
He promised to visit her everyday. He did. He always did. When he turned twenty-four, the days died away. He came to the lake as always, but the little yellow duck, which curiously never grew, was gone. It left no trace of even BEING. Fakir left like it was nothing. He came again the next day.
And the next was as void as the first. And soon, coming to the lake left him only a feeling of emptiness.
His writing got better than ever, and people praised him, loved him, looked up to him. But he only felt empty. His inspiration was in the form of a little yellow duck, with whom he kept his word, gliding gently across the rippling corner of his mind's eye.
Not the end yet, I promise you guys 8D
Next few prompts will vary from Princess Tutu to Fullmetal alchemist on probably the same continuum and definitely the same theme. Thanks for the support I've been getting, even without writing.
I'll try my best to continue my stuff.
