It was midnight, Zoe was only half way through her night shift and she was already exhausted. She decided that she deserved a break after all it was surprisingly quiet at the moment so she wouldn't be missed. She walked into her office and closed the door, she had only just led down on the sofa when she received a text. She picked up her phone and saw that it was from Max which caused a small smile to sneak its way onto her face, although she wasn't really sure who else it could have been texting her at midnight. She checked the message and wasn't surprised to see that he was telling her to meet her on the roof in 5, obviously he'd had the same idea as her of taking a break although he never really did any work so it wouldn't make much difference whenever he took a break. She sighed and stood up then grabbed her jacket off the coat hook and left her office closing the door behind her.

She arrived at the roof a few minutes later and looked around in search of Max calling his name in the process.

"I'm over here" he said and motioned for her to come over

When she reached him she saw that he had 2 coffees and 2 Curly Wurlys.

"Here, take them" he said holding a coffee and Curly Wurly out to her.

"Thanks" she said accepting them putting the coffee down and then eating some of her chocolate "So, what are we doing up here? Well except freezing half to death"

"Well I thought we could take a selfie because as you pointed out last time, the view is great up here" he joked.

"Oh shut up will you, that was not funny" she said lightly pushing him.

"Oh come on it was hilarious and about you being cold, I think I can sort that out for you" He pulled her closer to him and held her in a tight hug.

"Max….Max let go, you know how much I hate hugs" she demanded trying to pull away from him.

"Nope I'm quite enjoying myself personally"

"Max I swear to God if you do not let me go right now I will stomp on your foot so hard that I will break all your toes" she demanded again glaring at him

"Alright, alright easy tiger I'm letting go. What do you have against hugs anyway? Do I smell or something?" he asked jokingly as he loosened his grip and took a step back from her.

Zoe was just about to answer when her pager went off signalling that she was needed downstairs.

"Look Max, I've got to go but we'll finish this conversation later" she said turning around to go back to the ward.
