KISS THE GIRL

"First," Sebastian instructed, "you got to create...de mood..."

Ariel and Prince Eric floated in the lake in a tiny boat.

Ugh, he sighed, why does she want to watch THIS movie?

"Precussions..."Sebastian said. Some ducks tapped on a couple of turtle's stomachs.

"Strings..." Some crickets rubbed their legs together.

"Winds..." Cat-tails rustled in the wind, creating a flute-like sound

"Words.." Sebastian began to serenade the young animated couple.

"Dere ya see her, sitting dere across de way..." Boooring, he thought. She, on the other hand was completely engrossed in the movie. "She don't got a lot t' say, but dere's somet'ing about her..." Suddenly, he felt a little uneasy. As if Sebastian was talking to him, specifically. "And ya don't know why, but ya dying ta try. You wanna kiss de girl..." His heart beat just a little faster.

"Yes, you want her. Look at her you know you do" His palms were sweaty. There was no denying he wanted her. "It's possible she wants you too. Dere is one way to ask her." What do I say? he thought. "It don't take a word, not a single word. Go on and kiss de girl.."

No, I can't. What would she say? Sebastian continued, along with a chorus of fish, " Sha la la la la la la la la, my oh my, Look like de boy too shy, ain't gonna kiss de girl." Well, maybe I could. "Sha la la la la la la la, ain't dat sad? Ain't it a shame? Too bad, he gonna miss de girl.." Could I really lose her to someone else?

She was still so engrossed in the movie, she didn't notice him ease closer to her. He missed a couple of lines of the song, caught up in her beauty, and caught the tail end of something about a lagoon. "Boy ya better do it soon. No time will be better..." Butterflies on speed held a track meet in his stomach. "She don't say a word, and she won't say a word until ya kiss de girl." Yea, then she'll say a lot, he thought, smiling.

"Sha la la la la la la la la, don't be scared. You got de mood prepared, go on and kiss de girl." Sebastian and his fellow sea-creatures encouraged. He eased just a bit closer to her end of the couch. "Sha la la la la la la la la, don't stop now. Don't try ta hide it how you wanna kiss de girl." He licked his lips.

"Sha la la la la la la la la, float along, and listen to de song. De song say kiss de girl." Okay, this is going to happen, he thought working up his courage. "Sha la la la la la la la la, music play, do what de music say. You gotta kiss de girl..." Ariel and Prince Eric's lips were mere inches apart as the song slowly began to fade out, repeating that one line. Kiss the girl... Kiss the girl... Kiss the girl...

Finally, it was too much, he could not hold himself or his feelings in check any longer. Lightning-quick, he planted a chaste kiss on her cheek, his lips only touching her for a brief second. It was so unexpected that it startled her. As she looked at him, her brow creased.

"Knock it off, Remy! Cain't ya see Ah'm tryin' ta watch th' movie?!" She shoved him away from her. Gambit sat there, bewildered. He was still conscious. Rogue made an exasperated sound and muttered "Men!" before turning her full attention back to the movie.

Author's Note- I'm not exactly certain about the crickets, it's been a while, but the words are correct, I know, I have the soundtrack....Don't ask what I was on, cause I'm not sharing! (Timmy!!) :-)
