Star Wars Rebels

Beginning of the End

AN: "This is my first rebels fan fiction, so be nice. I am religious, so it will come into play, but don't judge based off that. It is minor. Enjoy, and may the force be with you!"

-KAW

Ezra was running. He couldn't tell from what, but it scared him. I have to get out of here Ezra thought. Suddenly, a hard force hit Ezra, stopping him and sending him flying backwards and landing on his back. Ezra saw dots in his vision as he slowly and painfully sat up. There was nothing there, yet when Ezra put his hand out, he felt a hard surface pressing back.

No escaping me this time padawan someone said. Ezra turned to see the Inquisitor staring at him, his yellow eyes digging into his soul. Ezra tried to backpedal, but couldn't as the force was stopping him. The Inquisitor laughed evilly as he ignited his red lightsaber. No! Ezra screamed as the blade pierced his heart. Ezra could feel blood in his mouth, he heard a woman scream his name, heard Kanan crying, then heard loud rasping breathing. A name came to his mind before his strength faded. Kyle.

Ezra woke to a cold sweat. As he panted heavily, he noticed that he was in the Ghost. Who is Kyle? Ezra wondered. He decided to ask Kanan and Hera.

Kanan noticed that Ezra was late for breakfast. Zeb, go get Ezra Hera said. Then Ezra walked into the room, holding his head, as if he was in a daze. Ezra, you ok? Kanan asked. No… I had a vision Ezra said. An invisible force had trapped me and I was killed by the Inquisitor Ezra explained. It was just a dream kid don't worry about it Zeb said. There's more Ezra said. I heard a name… a name I've never heard of before… Kyle Ezra said.

Kanan frowned. That name is… familiar Kanan said. You know him? Hera asked. No but… nothing Kanan said. Sabine frowned. She could tell Kanan was lying.

Kanan began training Ezra in lightsaber usage. He could deflect blasters by the time Trayvis betrayed them. Yet, Ezra had no ability to fight with it, preferring to use it as a blaster. Ezra had this all run through his head as he watched as the Inquisitor pinned Kanan to the wall of the communications tower with the force. Go! Kanan shouted into his com. Ezra turned and ran back down to the bottom of the tower, only to find the door jammed. Ezra used the force to pull it open and ran through the door to face the Inquisitor.

Well well well the Inquisitor laughed. The apprentice comes to save the master only to watch, as the master dies The Inquisitor laughed evilly. No! Ezra shouted, his eyes gaining a little bit of yellow. Ezra! A woman shouted. Ezra turned and saw Sabine gunning down troopers. The Inquisitor used the force to knock out Kanan and then charged Sabine. Sabine NO! Ezra shouted, running after the Inquisitor.

The Inquisitor knocked Sabine's blasters away then began chocking her with the force. Sabine's helmet had come off and revealed her eyes filling with tears of pain as her throat was being constricted.

STOP! Ezra shouted igniting his lightsaber. The Inquisitor laughed. Surrender or she dies He said. Ezra dropped his lightsaber, deactivating it, before kicking it towards the Inquisitor. Strange design my boy, it fits you well The Inquisitor said softly. Let her go please Ezra begged softly, almost a whisper. The Inquisitor let go off Sabine, who crumpled to the ground gasping painfully.

Sabine Ezra gasped as he ran over to her side. Ah… Young love the Inquisitor laughed. A shame that it'll never be returned He said as he stabbed towards Sabine. Ezra sensed this and moved in his way, getting stabbed in the side as a result. Ezra felt the lightsaber burning in his body. He crumpled onto the ground, struggling to breath. EZRA NO! Sabine cried as she crawled over to him.

Ezra lay facing the sky. His breathing was short. I'm dying… more peaceful than I thought Ezra thought. Something wet was falling on his neck and chest. H realized that it was Sabine's tears. The Phantom was gone; it had left on Kanan's last orders. The Empire would kill Kanan, imprison Sabine, and leave him to die. He had failed.

Ezra began to close his eyes, succumbing to the darkness, but then he saw a man on the top of the tower. A man in black, with a black cape billowing in the wind. He kept getting larger and larger. He's falling Ezra realized. The man hit the ground, and Ezra saw the Inquisitor go flying, and Imperial ships exploding. This man felt nothing like Kanan. He radiated the force, as if he was a living being made entirely of the force. His eyes were the only visable part of his body, bright blue eyes as cold as ice and as bright as the Lothal summer sun.

A name ran through Ezra's mind as the darkness began closing around him again. The same that had haunted him since his dream. Kyle. Suddenly, the darkness was replaced by light, and Ezra saw a man with holes in his hands and feet radiating light brighter than the sun. And the man spoke. You aren't going to die today Ezra, now rest… And when you wake, you're world will have changed forever. The light enveloped Ezra's vision then Ezra blacked out.

Sabine's POV:

This man had just destroyed all the Imperial vehicles with the force! Sabine thought. The Inquisitor got up and activated his lightsaber. Sabine looked down at Ezra. His eyes were closed, but he was breathing and he had the look of peace on his face. He almost seemed asleep. Sabine was scared for the boy she secretly had grown to love.

Then the mystery man spoke and what he said shocked her.

I AM KYLE WILSON, WARRIOR OF GOD AND SECRET HEAD OF THE JEDI ORDER. GOD HAVE SEEN ENOUGH OF SITH RULE OF HIS GALAXY. HIS PUNISHMENT IS CLEAR. DEATH! AND HIS VENGEANCE WILL START WITH YOU INQUISITOR! The man said. He drew a lightsaber and charged the Inquisitor.
