Life continues.
3 months after the events of KORTEX, life had returned to normal. Or as normal as it could get nowadays.
The PM had seen the light (and so had all the heads of MI9) and declared MI High to be a functioning branch of MI9, run by it's new leader, Frank. The 4 students were praised for working well under enormous pressure, and were given medals for their bravery. They had gone up against the entire country.
Security and rules were tightened; nobody could walk into an official building without being stopped by some member of the police, MI9, or a security guard. There were more patrols on the streets of London, and people under suspicion of terrorism were placed under custody until a time it could be proved that they were not terrorists. Not many were released, and some were actually convicted and put in prison, all thanks to Tom's now famous hacking skills. He had declined an offer to work in the Dixon-Halliday unit to stay close to his friends.
Dan, Aneisha and Keri were hailed where ever they went inside MI9- people surrounded them all the time, never tiring of their adventures and tales. Tom and Dan would run away at the first sign of somebody coming over to talk to them. They have now been known to lock the main HQ to stop fangirls from accidently murdering them. Keri and Aneisha, often enough would 'accidently' unlock the door.
"Hey, Tom wanted some female attention," Keri would say, at the sight of Tom running for his life.
"Boys," Aneisha would sigh, "They never know what they want."
Stella, while she was aware of the girl's antics, did little to prevent them from tormenting the boys; in fact, she only gave them half hearted telling off. She was too busy laughing at Dan and Tom who were locking all the doors and windows in an attempt to stop the fangirls getting in.
Frank would be in there with them, and would call in a SWAT team to disperse the fangirls carefully; however, it soon became clear a special unit would have to be made. They are called the HFU (hyperactive fangirls unit) and have had special training in dealing with fangirls. Much to Stella's surprise, the HFU were in high demand. It seemed fangirling was a bigger problem than she originally thought. She was especially ashamed when she found Keri and Aneisha refusing to let go of Johnny Depp. The poor man was very red faced and it had taken nearly 3 HFU's to get the two screaming girls off of him.
Frank and Stella were now a 'thing' as people said. They had a fully functioning relationship, and it was kind of embarrassing how easily they fell into it again. It was like they had picked up straight back from where they left off so many years ago. They made sure never to do anything romantic in front of Aniesha and Keri, who were fast becoming proper fangirls.
It was a lovely warm evening when Frank came into Stella's office. "Hey," he said, leaning against the door frame. His hair was all mussed up, and his clothes were ripped. Another attack then. Stella took in the little bit of skin that was showing, blushing furiously. She had never seen this much of Frank, since they never had to got to 'third base', as some people said (often waggling their eyebrows for effect).
"Hey," she replied, when her mouth finally agreed to work. "What happened?"
"Some people thought it would be a good idea if they stormed the HQ," answered Frank, "You know, the troublemakers- no one really serious. Just looking for an opportunity."
"And...?"
"And we got most of them, they're going through questioning right now."
"Most of them?" she questioned.
"Well, a couple got away, and another one was shot, so he's in hospital."
"Hmm," she mumbled, non-committal. She drummed her fingers on the desk. "So..."
Frank stood in silence for a moment. "Stella... About the... Ummm, well I wondering whether we could talk." He finally finished. "About... about us."
Stella stared for a moment. "Erm, well, sit down. What is it?" she nearly whispered. She was surprised at the weakness in her voice. Frank cast her a worried look.
"Well, I was just wondering... I feel like we're rushing this," he admitted. "I mean, so many years have passed since... Hyperia..."
Stella felt a lump rise in her throat. Hyperia. A good friend, and a great agent. She cursed KORPS once again for forcing Frank to make the decision he had been forced to make, killing Hyperia, her team and their relationship.
"And I just thought, maybe we should start at the beginning. I love you, Stella, and that's all I know."
"Very well," she said. Frank smiled.
"I wasn't finished. I love you Stella, and that's all I know... But I want to know more."
Stella was speechless. Frank loved her, and he wanted to know her. No man had ever done that for her. They had simply dated her, asking awkward questions and never really being interested in the answer. "F-Frank. What are you saying?"
"I'm saying, come sit next to me so I can talk to you," he said cheekily. It didn't help that Stella's eyes were drawn to Frank's chest again, and she gave a reprimanding stare, even as she scrambled over the desk, straight into his arms.
And that was that. They got to know each other, and their love was legendary, even long after they were gone.
A review, MI High-ers?
