Conflict of Interest

Amanda looked at her mentor with weary eyes, "But John, how do you know that these people are morally corrupt?"

The middle-aged man shot the young woman a glare, you should know by now that Jigsaw always follows through if he suspects someone of being morally unhinged.

Amanda sighed and turned her attention back to the surveillance monitors, the two women they had been closely monitoring every move of for the past week were riding on horseback, a personal journey it seemed.

Amanda knew of one of the women they hunted, her actions were legendary around her hometown, the woman's name she knew only as Xena, a warrior princess from Amphipolis, the woman traveling with her though, was a complete mystery. She watched this woman intently, seemingly mesmerized by the curves of the blond female and nodded dreamily, locked in a daydream that seemed to make no sense, she barely knew this person.

"Xena, do you ever feel that we're being watched, call me paranoid but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach." the sweet blond companion said aloud

"Now Gabrielle, you know that these "feelings" are not in your head, we've been traveling together for five years now, I promise, nothing is going to happen to you." the dark haired warrior responded

Gabrielle shivered at the thought of being kidnapped, that helpless feeling already worked its magic on her psyche.

No sooner did night swallow the area did Gabrielle finally lose her sanity, "I'm telling you, there's someone out there, waiting for the right moment to strike!"

The bard froze when she realized that her companion had fallen asleep, leaving Gabrielle to deal with her feelings alone, but when she saw a flash of black across the door to their room, she gathered up her courage to investigate, silently creeping up on the door, she screamed when she saw the figure grab for her, another black figure made its way to Xena, sweeping her up and following the other, who held a screaming Gabrielle out of the door.
