This necklace gold—I wasn't told
Its beauty is a ruse
It can't be torn off once it's worn;
Around my neck: a noose!
Through loss and strife I lived my life
Ignorant of who,
Like a leech, was watching each
Tear shed as up I grew.
But then it starts! Into my heart
Five daggers made five wounds.
On my knees and offering pleas
I heard him speak, and swooned.
He had spoken of vows unbroken,
His duty to his "host"—
What he stole were my friends' souls!
I'd lost them to this ghost!
A Thief in name and deed the same!
And that's not all he stole;
From in my head he killed me dead—
He took my life in whole!
Against my will he makes me kill
My body's not my own
But I'm still wide awake inside
I'll defend my friends, alone.
All along he's been so strong
But I'll be even stronger.
All's not lost; no matter the cost
He won't win any longer!
