Gerard sat in his room abundant, squinting from the sun that shone through the space in between his curtains. He forced his pencil down on his paper with an absent mind and the led snapped out, shooting of the table and falling on to the floor. Why didn't he have any ideas? His mind was normally filled to the brim with abstract images of supernatural creatures and settings but today it seemed to be haunted with emptiness. He lacked in inspiration. He hadn't left the house in weeks because there was no need to. There was no one to spend time with anymore. His friends were always busy with their so called jobs. Gerard pondered what it would be like to spend his time in a cold lifeless office cubicle every day. His mind wondered away for a while, he didn't keep track of time because there was no point; he has nothing to be late to.

Maybe he should meet some new people, maybe get a girlfriend, and throw himself into some kind of social situation. Even the thought was a large hindrance to his mind. He sighed and collided face first into his bed when he heard Mikey come pounding up the stairs, the floor boards creaking with his body weight. He tiptoed into Gerard's bedroom assuming he was asleep. Even if he was asleep he would have been woken up by the elephant on the stairs.

"What do you want Mikey?!" The words came out slightly warped and confused. His brother chortled at him.

"I noticed you've been locked up in this room more than usual so I wondered if you wanted to check Pete's band tonight" He showed Gerard a leaflet, it was crinkled from Mikey's pocket and slightly soggy. Gerard took it reservedly and glanced over it.

'ALL HALLOWS EVE' It read in swollen green letters. It couldn't be Halloween today? Gerard looked at his calendar which was still in July, with a few messy birthdays scribbled into it which Gerard couldn't even understand himself. Mikey walked over and flipped the calendar 3 times revealing a storm trooper lying on a sofa as if to seduce someone, who had even brought him this? Then he had remembered it was an old Christmas present from Ray. Ray who he hadn't seen in a good few months.

"Yes it's Halloween already" He said as if he had read Gerard's mind. "I really think you should go Gee, you haven't been out in ages. I'm sure you could meet someone tonight, maybe even a girl" Gerard slid Mikey an irritated look. Ever since he had got with Pete he had been encouraging Gerard to get into a relationship himself, which was really aggravating because all Gerard ever wanted to do lately was watch cartoons and draw. But then again that wasn't really going as well anymore.

He sighed. "Okay. I'll go" Mikey nodded and told him that Pete would be there to pick them up in about 2 hours. Gerard cocooned himself in his bedclothes and muffled an "Ok." And he heard his brother walk out and pull the door shut.

Mikey was right though. Life was becoming similar to a gif. file repeating itself over and over on an endless loop. This would be a good chance to get some inspiration for some art, and he would finally get to meet this Pete Wentz that Mikey would speak about constantly. If he didn't go, this would be the first time he hadn't gone out on Halloween.

So it was decided, he'd get out of his clammy, chaotic and cluttered room and do something with tonight.

So he did.
