It was a normal day for scorpion 152. He was going for his daily walk around the mine that was (mercifully) free of players. It was a hard life being a Runescape scorpion people assumed that you would respawn just as they would but you couldn't 152 had seen so many deaths in his life. At three days old he was practically ancient. Mostly he thought of himself as lucky all his battles had been with noobs and so he had lived while around him his friends and family had died but 152 felt no grief. The codes forbid it. The code was to the scorpions was unbreakable it said you attack players who try to mine so you attack players who try to mine. No scorpion in history had ever broken the code. 152 saw a player enter carrying a steel pike axe and wearing steel armour. 152 sighed. This was it. His death but the code would not allow him to run even though he wanted to with every fibre of his being. He scurried up to his foe. The player seeing him drew a steel sword and attacked! Slashing at 152s legs but the scorpion dodged aside and launched his stinger at the player. But it bounced off the others armour without doing anything and the player brought his sword down on 152s head! It caused a deep crack in his natural armour but did little else. 152 swung his tail again and this time he was lucky enough to strike a weak point in his opponents armour because a small crack appeared at the scene of the impact. His foe looked shocked but 152 wan not about to stop and finds out why. He struck again and his tail pierced the armour and drove deep into his enemy's stomach. The player really was shocked now. Blood pored out of his wound and he grew weaker. 152 finished the battle with a well placed tail strike. The player crumpled to the floor and disappeared leaving his items to be taken. 152 looked down trying to ignore the numerous aches and pains he had acquired while fighting his late foe. Then the scorpion did something that no scorpion had ever done before. He levelled up.
