Alice shook her head at me in a condescending manner.

"Hmpf," I said. "I can't do this! Why don't you just do it for me?"

"It's not that difficult, Bella. And I can't dance with your husband for your first dance. It just doesn't happen."

"I don't know why I can't just stand on his feet like at prom," I muttered. I looked back up at Emmett, who was holding my hand & my waist. I could see he was trying not to laugh. I narrowed my eyes, trying to look menacing. "You're not helping, you know. You're supposed to LEAD, not stand there like a lump." Emmett merely grinned his annoying you're-so-funny-Bella grin. I kicked him in the shin & stubbed my toe. Stupid vampire invincibility.

"Let's try this again." Alice linked her right hand with Jasper's as he pulled her close. She started counting, "One, two, three. One, two, three." They looked so in-sync, so perfect together. They glided around the Cullen's living room, the furniture pushed against the wall. When they finished, they both turned to us. "Now you."

Emmett took a step to the right and I followed him. Then another step and another and we managed to stay upright through the song. Of course, we were far from the fluid pair of Jasper and Alice. But it was a start. It was the first time I made it through without falling or even tripping. Maybe I wouldn't embarrass myself and Edward after all. I smiled at the thought. Then the Wedding Nazi, Alice, insisted that we try the dance a couple more times in hopes of me looking more graceful. Wishful thinking on her part, that is.

"Okay. That's much better, Bella. You're really getting the hang of it." Alice was beaming. I was very excited, myself, having finally accomplished this seemingly impossible feat. "Right. So now, we have to try it with the shoes."

My smile faded to open-mouthed shock as I heard Jasper and Emmett laugh.
