Summary: There's nothing quite like newfound love for a pair of shy lovebirds.

As Wataru gently slipped the ring on Mio's finger, his eyes locked with hers for a second and he almost looked away shyly. But something about Mio's soft gaze and her gentle smile held his attention. His heart began to flutter a little bit and suddenly, he managed to muster up a bit of courage to ask her a question.

"Mio-san… would you like to see my home?"

Her face turned an almost brilliant shade of pink. "Is it… is it okay? I've never been in someone's home before."

There was a kind of a shy nod. "Don't worry." He assured her. "I live alone. My father vanished many years ago and my mother died not long after. I've been alone for a long time and it would be nice to have some company other than Megumi and Shizuka."

"That's kind of sad…" Mio murmured. "It must be lonely… having no family."

"It does get lonely… but I have friends now that make it feel not so lonely." He told her, getting up and extending her hand to his.

She looked up at him and then placed her hand in his, getting up and following him as he lead her back to the Kurenai home.

"Oh, it's beautiful." She murmured as she took in the large house. "Do you really live here all alone?"

"I do more than live here, I work here." He told her as he pushed open the gate to let her in. "I repair and make violins."

It wasn't until she saw the inside of his home that she seemed to understand. There were violins in various states, gloss, tools… it had a comfortable feel to it, despite being a workplace.

"It's nice…" She said, her voice trailing off in the usual shy manner, but then, something caught her eye. "This violin…" She murmured, walking to the case where Otoya's violin case, a photo of him and the Bloody Rose resided. "It's beautiful."

"My father made it." Wataru murmured. "I dream of one day making a violin like this." He came up behind her slowly as he spoke and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's… my dream. What's yours?"

"I…I don't really have one." Mio's voice was barely a whisper. "But… there's this one… it sound so silly…"

"No dream is silly." Wataru assured her. "You can tell me… you can trust me."

She looked up and their gazes locked through the reflection on the glass. "I… I dream of owning my own bento shop." She confessed after a moment or two of silence. "But I'm so shy and nervous around others that I don't think I could do it."

"I think you can do it."

Mio turned her head to look at him. "You do?"

"Yes…" he said. "I do. I would love to eat a bento you made."

She gave him a shy smile again, but this time, there was a flash of teeth and she turned to face him, her fingers gently touching his face and hair. "You're very sweet, Wataru-san."

He almost shied away from her touch, but then leaned into it, touching her hand with his own before leaning towards her and giving her a slow, gentle kiss.

The effect was almost electric.

Shivers and shockwaves shot down their spines and the kiss was shy, almost hesitant, but feeling a surge of boldness, Wataru pulled Mio closer. She tasted almost like coffee and chocolate and there was something about her that touched something deep within him… something that made him wonder… if she was like him.

Wataru's kiss was intoxicating to Mio, awakening feelings deep within her, things she'd never thought she would get to feel. There was something about Wataru that just seemed to draw her close and keep her hooked. He was unlike anyone she'd ever met before… he was like her.

Whatever miracle of fate (or Megumi) that had conspired to being them together, she was thankful for it, as was he.

This was definitely the start of something wonderful.
